there appears to be a bit of a divide between the ruthless, who, as you say, are tearing the backside out of the promotion and those like me, who do a couple a week and see it as a bonus to the normal shop.

I do not wish to enter the wider philosophical debate on life, but this tesco's promo is representative of more than just this offer. It is a gauge of society, the individuals that make it up and attitudes to life and one another.........those that adopt a stance in this offer, are likely to adopt the same standing in many other facets of life and for me, lends information on the sort of individual i'm dealing with.

Anyway, i shall not comment further and like i said, everybody sets their own stance and if they are happy with their choices, then it is only right, that i am happy for them.

Anyone tried/spotted this yet? It could give quite a good DTD.

Polish Sausage 90p at ASDA or 2 for £1.50. And £1.20 at Tesco. So if you buy one, it's 60p DTD, if you buy two, it's £1.80 DTD (Net 30p per pack).

Just spotted that Betty Crocker has gone up to £1 at A!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I almost didn't even check since it is one of my 'failsafe' DTD items and I thought that T was more likely to lower the price than A was to raise it.

    :(:(:(

A sad day for DTDers everywhere! I propose a minute's silence...

It was still 25p in store earlier but £1 now online (how they can flag this as Rollback when we all know it has been 25p for the past few weeks is beyond me - Watchdog exposed them for this practice a few weeks ago!).

Arm & Hammer has now gone back to £2.48 in store Asda but still showing as £1 online, so could still be okay as that is where they are matching.

Also noticed Chateauneuf Du Pape Grande Reserve (75cl) rolled back from £14.46 to £8 - I wonder if this matches a Tesco equivalent as they have a couple at £14+.

I do 2 DTD shops a week, at the very most. I only go, when I actually need something and don't feel the need to ensure I go to Tesco's every single day, to stockpile items and I don't buy things just to get a £20 DTD voucher back, so no, i'm not abusing the system.

Tesco CS have got on my nerves recently, but I don't have a vendetta against the company and just treat the whole thing as a bit of a bonus.

It's your life and if you are happy with it, then i'm pleased for you. Only you, can set your own moral standards.

My personal opinion, is that it is greedy and totally unnecessary that tesco are daylight robbing everyone in this country, tesco, will not be affected by 1 in 5000 abusing this promotion. For all those ITK about this promotion, who are not abusing it.. all I have to say to them is...

    more fool you :p

I suspect the "backside tearers" will have achieved short term profit and a guarantee that Tesco won't be doing generous promotions in the future. Short term profit , long term loss <shrug>

  • Hi, newbie here.

I've been following this thread for a week now and have done two small DTD shops so far buying things I normally would.

Think I've found a possible DTD item for today:-

    Birds Eye 16 beefburgers, T £3.98, A £3.00, DTD £1.96, Net Cost £2.02

And a big thank you to all the SS editors for your great work.
