overlapping no claims query
Options
Hi,
just wondered if someone could help me, ive just bought a new car to replace my off road/unusable old one.
However my insurance with aviva on that car runs out on the 18th april. On completion of that policy i will have 5 years no claims. However if i buy online through quidco for aviva for the new car from the 18th with 5 yrs no claims it takes into account all the discounts (new customer as well as previous policy holder) and is very competitive. However this leaves 6 days of my new car being uninsured which i dont want,
If i change the new policy start to the 12th april allowing the other policy to expire 6 days later will i still be entitled to the full 5 yrs no claims discount?
Or should i buy the policy i have as a saved quote (dated 18th april)and then ring them and ask to upgrade for 6 days?
thanks in advance

Your new car cannot be registered unless you have insurance for it. Most dealers will offer a free seven day policy. Ask your selling dealer about these. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
Or buy a short-term policy to cover the few days.We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.
The earth needs us for nothing.
The earth does not belong to us.
We belong to the Earth0
