Google calendar & mobiles

I use outlook calendar (which I love) but really need to be able to use it when I'm out & about or I forget things.
I did a search and Google calendar apparently works with outlook and you can use it anywhere.
Has anyone used this - are there any issues with security (ie people getting info from your home pc etc)?
Thanks

I haven't used outlook for years but have used google calendar on my phone with no issues.
OH has access to my calendar and can see what I am (meant to be) doing.
It syncs really well and as long as someone doesn't have your password then there shouldn't be a problem.0 -
I find it works very well with my mobile.Loving the sunny days!0

Google calendar is great. It also syncs all your contacts and phone numbers so if ever your phone is lost it's easy to recover your contacts.
I used to use outlook with a windows mobile device and used to have issues syncing but have had no problem at all with google.0 -
what phone do you have, although most smartphones can sync with google calendar?
first off before you start anything backup your outlook calendar by exporting it into something like .csv (this is so if you accidentally screw something up you can't loose all your calendar entries)
then log into gmail and click calendar, then you can import the outlook backup to google calendar.
you can then use Google Calendar Sync to sync your google calendar with Outlook.
and then use Google Sync to set up your phone, you can also use google sync to sync your contacts from gmail to your phone (perfect if your phone was ever lost/stolen)0 -
That's fantastic, thanks all.
(Would never have thought to back up my outlook first, so an extra special thanks for that tip)!
Off to give it a try!:DGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

I used to use outlook but once I switched to gmail and google calendars, I never went back. Even if you don't use a smart-phone (I do), you can get the calendar to text you a reminder and you can add entries by texting them to the calender.0
