  • There's no firm reviews of it to say if it's any good but i'm tempted by this:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004TB0EXY/ref=s9_simh_gw_p147_d0_i1?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=11Z02SVDTXV4BK5HHWAT&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=467128533&pf_rd_i=468294

Sounds like it's going to be a good tablet but the keyboard add on would be useful from time to time for use when traveling. But the better use of it is the keyboard apparently has a 2nd battery you can use to recharge the first and double the life of it between charges, a simple but fairly effective idea if it works

It is good as a reading device e.g. ebooks, web browsing, photo/video watching etc.

It is pants when it comes down to typing or any serious work.

Also, Apple has crippled the device to a great extent. Simple file management is missing and if you need to transfer music/photo, you are at the mercy of odious iTunes.

But on good side, it has good battery life and portable. If you get Wifi only model, you can tether it to your smartphone (if you have internet in your allowance).

Just don't assume that it can do everything what a netbook/laptop can - because it can't.
Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.

My touch screen is 10.1" capacitive multitouch, wouldn't have bought resistive. I can even use a USB keyboard.

I don't regret buying it, but it isn't something I would spend loads on yet for me they need to develop more. The iPad turned me off with no flash as one of the things I often do if grab the tablet go onto the BBC website and watch the football highlights which are flash and don't work on my Apple devices or didn't last time I checked- iplayer might work now?

Iplayer has always worked for me (trying to remember back, at least since July of last year), and there is also a dedicated iPad app now.

I use my iPad every day, I can read newspapers from around the world and a number of magazines I read are available for download and I also use it as an internet radio.

And then the usual email and Internet use as well.

    I love my iPad 2

I use it for web browsing, email, movies, books, Garageband (so fun!) and some of the cool touch physics games,

I also own a Mac Book Air, Sony Vaio Laptop and Dell Desktop yet I keep going to the iPad, i prefer browsing the web on it to my laptops and find the keyboard really good actually :/

Whilst it dosnt bring anything new to the table it makes alot of things you can do on other devices quicker/easier.

It has great battery (better than laptop + netbook), amazing standby, is pretty much instant on. So thin and light.

So yeah no one really needs one, but if you have the money treat yourself. And whilst theres lots of android tabs coming out, none will match the iPads quality or support.

Sure it has its limits, but you wont even care when you get your hands on it :)

I haven't had to use any of the alternatives as I don't have a problem with iTunes, but there are a number of alternative programs if you really don't like it.

The magazines apps like The Economist, FT, WSJ, Bloomberg Busunessweek etc are superior. I stopped reading real papers :)
