Best suntan lotion for kids with sensitive skin

Not sure if this right section but here goes

My 2 kids (4 & 2) have sensitive skin, especially my 4-year old.

We used to use E45 suntan lotion but they no longer make that and we currently use Nivea which is OK but not brilliant as they still get a reaction to that now and then.

As we're off on holiday in June are wondering what others have found to be the best. Ideally we want something that's easy to apply and doesn't need to be reapplied loads during the day

Thanks in advance

I use Simple baby sun sensitive cream on DS. It's factor 50, but says it should be reapplied hourly. He has eczema, so I am careful too. We get the Simple one in home bargains for £2.99.

So difficult my dd has reacted to several different ones quite badly. 1 year the Asda kid's sensitive one was fine. the next year we got the same one as it had been fine, she got a terrible rash & her skin peeled all over from her toes to her fingertip's was V scary. We have found the Ambre Solaire Kid's 1 good. As you have a few month's might be worth emailing the main companies & explaining the situation & asking for some samples to test before you splash out. This is the one we use now

My daughter has very reactive skin and really bad eczema that flairs up in the heat/bright sunlight. I used Piz Buin Allergy last year and it was the first year that she didn't have any bad skin at all.

I use Boots Soltan sun cream.

It's got 5 star rating on UVB(?) and some of the other well known brands haven't.

They do a range of kids suncream, some of which are hypoallergenic and of the type that you only have to apply once a day or have insect protection built in.

It's on BOGOF at the moment.

We also use Boots Soltan. My daughter has reacted quite badly to some others (Sainsburys kids one in particular) but she is fine with Soltan.

I would suggest you skip all the chemical ones and go for an organic one. I used to swear by Dr Haushka but its no longer available. I swapped to Badger (water resistant) spf 30 unscented sunscreen - all natural moisturising sun cream which I bought online after lots of research when my usual one was discontinued. Used it on my toddler in Dubai in Oct last year and was first rate in every way. Easy to apply, no reactions, no sunburn etc etc.

You could try the once a day UltraSun http://search.qvcuk.com/QVCUK/Search.ff?query=Ultrasun&cm_re=PAGE-_-SEARCH-_-SEARCH&cm_scid=SEARCH which is waterproof etc..

The really big up the "once a day thing" and for me (also very pale, excema, allergic to everything) it's fine and I dont go like a lobster, although I wouldn't trust that claim for children, its not worth the risk for the sake of slapping a bit more on now and again.

I use the factor 20 in this country, not been abroad since I started using it (:() but my sister who is almost seethrough has just come back off her hols in Tenerife raving about it, as, even though she has 3/4 holidays a year (jammy mare), this is the first time she hasn't burnt and has come back with a tan.

You can apprently get it on prescription so might be worth asking your Dr. ?

I would recommend Ambre Solaire kids too. My daughter had awful eczema from when she was a month old till she was 4. This was the only suncream that worked. She has now outgrown it thankfully.
