Orange removed free text from plan...anyone else!?!?!

I've had a phone on contract with Orange for just about 18 months (was on 12 month contract which i just continued with), on Your Plan 120 getting 120 free x-net & 250 free texts.

Just got this month's bill and they seem to have taken away the free texts charging me £8.60 for the 86 texts i sent this month.

I've just contacted them and they are claiming that the free texts were promotional for 18 months, but neglected to tell me that fact when I took the plan out originally. They also neglected to inform me that the so called promotion was ending.

Luckily, spoke with a sympathetic advisor who has credited my bill with the £8.60 but just wanted to see if anyone else has been caught out by this??
I may be shy, but that doesn't make me an angel ;)

hi bairnpunter. luckily i've just left Orange for T-Mobile and so it didnt worry about the forecoming months, just the credit for this last month when they starting charging. I can't remember who I ordered my phone with originally (3rd party online) but i did it online and there certainly wasn't any mention of the free text ending.

But my OH had the same problem a couple of months ago and asked to speak with their high level complaints team and threatened legal action. She got 500 free texts each month for the next 12 months after much arguing with them.

Be persistant! Don't let them fob you off

Thanks, I was so hacked off with the unsympathetic manner I was spoken to, the phone was down before I could ask about speaking to a supervisor.

I was made to feel like I was the only one to get caught out. Good to know its not just me and my wife.
