Sorry but Im going insane sat here waiting for it to happen and thought you may be able to help me. We have a completion date of tomorrow, everything is packed but we havent exchanged yet. Spoke to sol yesterday who said he'd been trying to do it all day????
Why wouldnt he have been able to do it?
Will sol ring me to tell me when its going to happen or will he do it then let me know?
I cant stand this uncertancy.
If everythings ok and it happens, who do I ring for a time to get the keys tomorrow and when do you normally find out a time?
Thanks for any help.

The solicitors have to get hold of each other at the same time. I think that can be difficult. If you can get the EAs to check with the solicitors that there's no problems other than this, you'll feel a bit better.
Exchange always seems to happen the day after it's supposed to, IME!
Fingers Crossed for you! (and legs!)Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Always expect the worse and you wont be dissapointed.
Key handover can be stressful. The Bank system can take all day to progress funds so its worth being prepared for this.
Solicitors tell me they would rather clients wait for information and not keep chasing them as this means thier time is diverted away from value added meaningful activity.
I find clients fall into 2 distinct categories:
Those who fret and stress
Those who take it all in thier stride.
The difference is simply down to client personality and has nothing to do with external events. How one internalises thier responses to the world directly regulates thier stress.
I know its not what you want to hear, but understand we all go through this. Best to just go with the flow.0 -
Thanks Doozer, I dont think I want to know if theres any problems LOL.

WHat have you done about removal van? Im in a similar limbo.
Have made a couple of calls to removals this am- for a recky as to cost/ availability.
We are meant to exchange today ( wont be today) or tomorrow ( fingers crossed for that!)
But I dont want to book removals in case it doesnt happen:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Thanks for that, thats my motto too, I always look on the worse case scenario but I think its making me stress more at the moment as Im expecting everything to fall apart. I normally thrive on stressfull situations, its just the not knowing at this late stage.
I agree its not good to mither all the time and honestly I havent.
Right, deep breath and a cuppa.
Thanks for replying.0 -

It wasnt planned this way mrsc. I was told initially we would exchange the week before but the sols dealing with the repo I hope to buy sent the wrong documentation and have dragged there feet and the FTB at the bottom of the chain threatenned to pull out if we didnt complete by the 24th, managed to get him to agree to the 30th. Wouldnt mind its not like this has been going on for ages.
My sol just rang me and said it should all be done by 3pm.
