    Thanks for clearing it up everyone. It's not the end of the world, it just means that i have to wait a few more months until i can get a new card.

    Basically i have a CCJ that was satisfied about 3 months after i got it, and i've been waiting to get rid of it ever since. It finally disappears this july and we can do things like starting to look for a better mortgage and getting lower %APR credit cards.

    Interesting about the Experian thing - i naively thought that companies just looked at the number.

    If every lender looked at customers credit scores from Experian, lenders would be giving out platinum cards to almost everyone in the uk, as Experian dish out 999 scores to almost anyone who has not missed a payment in the last 6-12 months.
