Help unlocking orange phone needed (Nokia E71)

I received my unlock code for my Nokia E71 last week from Orange and I am having trouble using the code. 3 phone calls later to customer services I am none the wiser and keep being told that a new code is being sent which is not what I need.

The problem I have is that one of the actions is to press the '*' 3 times to produce a 'p', twice for a 'w' and once for a '+'. Anyone know how to get these symbols on the E71. I was told by customer services that I have to use the star key or else the code wont work. I can't produce those symbols with the star key and if I use the qwerty keyboard keys the code does not work and I get 'code error' :undecided

Take it into an Orange shop and get them to do it for you while you wait.
  • I think that is my only option. I will go armed with the email from orange with the code and my bill as I have been charged the unlock code which wont work.

the key sequence u were given is for a number pad. to enter on e71 is easyer. at the home screen you just press the *# keys and the actuall p key and w key, and the + u enter by pressing ctrl and I ( ctln key is bottom left key, next to shift.)

    I am a e71 user.

Customer services told me I can't use the actual keys and it has to be the * key even though I have a full keypad. I tried using the keypad and got the code error message.
