Jodyl - It was the Chichester branch - about 20 mins from me but still the nearest branch! It's in a pedestrianised bit so whoever shops there has to park up - maybe it's a standard practice for this particular shop?

It was the Chichester branch I went into at Midday yesterday to get my bargain. See my earlier post. They were extremely helpful and apologetic. Full marks to them.

CAE - oooohhh we're neighbours! :j Never hear of anyone from MSE round here. Argos did tell me they had someone in earlier 'about the joystick' guessed it was an MSE'r lol

I went to our local store, got just the joypad. Queried it with the 16 year old part timer who said "Sorry, do you want to choose another game in the range?" Needless to say, two minutes later I was in the car with the joypad and the Cars game for a nice price!!! Cheers folks!!!

im another neighbour but my branch was rubbish.
Rung up customer services and girl rubbish & basically said tough luck, Rung manager today and he was absoloutly fantastic and is sending me vouchers for the game so that i can now buy it next time i go to argos.Im over the moon!
To be honest though i think if trading standards got a whiff of this they can be fined £1000 a go for each misprice so this is the best way to go for them.
    ...what a nice man.
  • hi

i had the same problem as everyone else.
i orded 3 online on thursday went to pick them up and only got joystick i mentioned i was still awaiting the game. they rung head office and i got given 2 x toystory and 1 x noddy game as they said it was their mistake.

    i was very pleased

    thanks
  • I ordered this joystick and game for pick up on Friday 1st Dec, unfortunately my husband picked it up and just got the joystick - not the game. At the checkout he did mention there was a confusion over the item as it was coming up as Toy Story Game, but he walked out with only the joystick.
Anyway he went back to the store on Monday asking for the game, only to be told that it was only a joystick. The staff member told him they would check up with head office (web design???) whether the offer was on the internet. He went back in today and was told that the offer was never on the internet (even though another 2 customers had also gone in about the same problem.
I have emailed the customer services dept but still am waiting for a reply.

Any advice or help anyone could gove me would be much appreciated.
    Cheers

    Hi

Many thanks to Bargain Mad who had a screen shot of this offer without it I wouldn't have got the deal!!

I too ordered my game last week and it wasn't in stock so held it for when it came in.

Went in today and went to self serve till to check order and it just stated joystick. Went to CS and explained the situation showed him the print out. He said offer had ended. Told him I had reserved it as was out of stock. He then told me must have been a different catalogue number that was used.

He went off to check something else of mine and I checked on the screen shot I had (number at end of web address bar) and the catalogue number was the same as on the joystick that he went to get so they gave me choice of a game :) It took me half an hour in store to get it but came out smiling bought something else for £9.99 too and used a £5 voucher that I got last week on the spend £50 offer so it all only cost me £12 odd!!

SAMWOOD do you have the e-mail confirmation or not? I didn't which made it harder but he said half way through that if I had that showing the deal then I could have it.

I learnt a lesson anyway - always get e-mail confirmation when reserving!!

    THANKS AGAIN BARGAIN MAD!!

    Hi,

I was sent the screenshot by another MSE'r. Store have refused to honour it, saying their store support line told them the bundle never existed. CS told me they were not able to override this -am currently waiting for a phone call from the buyers ay Argos to confirm whether this ever existed?

Lord knows why - I'm certain it never existed but seeing as they listed it, sold it and endorsed the receipt with 'Toy Story' then surely they have to honour it (contract formed at time money was taken). Think I'll have to speak to someone higher up tomorrow...

    Jkb,

Can you tell me which store gave you the game? So I can argue inconsistent policy and all that?
