Switching from business BB to personal.

I am going to lose my utterly brilliant business BB provider.:(

It is set up for our business but also to our home. (Please excuse the non technical terms, I have no idea of these things.)

So on divorce and resigning from the business, I now have to find another supplier.

I have a BT phone line, but no cable or anything and have looked on the sam site.
Telephone exchange 1 mile away.

What scares me is to read here of problems. Never have I had a problem with connection or strangling whatever you call it, which is strange as I understand Mbps is all, but my current provider is quote"
High speed Internet access. (Up to 8-10 Mbps ADSL depending on the local exchange.) "
Which is less than some others on the sam list.

I can post the available list if allowed, but I would so love to keep the current provider, too expensive for a private home I suppose.

I rarely use the land line, but living alone I wish to keep it. At present I use the internet mostly, sometimes watch BBC iplayer, send emails etc. I may start selling all the stuff here though, so need a reliable connection.

Knowing nothing as I do, how difficult is it to switch? Routers etc?

Any advice will be gratefully received.

    Why???
Why can't you keep the current provider, many business connections can be used on home lines.

Just post the exchange name so we can see whats available
Only you know if it's too expensive as you know what you can afford to spend

Simple as getting MAC from current provider choosing new one give them MAC and transfer usually around 5-10 days.
You may need to supply your own router if current ISP want theres returned though many new ISP's will supply a router for long term contract.

Thanks Steve, I would love to stay where I am. I will talk to them tomorrow. This provider only supplies businesses.

Whatever MAC is? Cut off 25th this month.

Your supplier will have no idea if you are a business or not, and care less.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Phoned my current supplier and it's £20+vat pm. Not the cheapest, but they are very reliable, so one less worry.
    Thankyou to steve and macman.:T
