Once again I can only say Living Room and Kitchen are `acceptable`. Hall/stairs/landing, & bedrooms are in dire need of attention, and getting worse.

    In my defence -
Had a lovely day with my friend visiting on Saturday, worked a long day on Sunday, and did a lot of VERY selective weeding yesterday, outdoors to make the most of the weather while it lasted. (My garden is wild, I`ve no wish to strim it yet, but pulling up nettles and goosegrass in large areas before they take hold and take over).

I`ve also kept us fed cooking from scratch and kept well on top of laundry, so I`m not feeling guilty. And I may be a sight in strappy top and shorts, but I`ve lost my winter pallor and I feel more healthy for that too.
Today we`re visiting OH`s aunt this afternoon, and tomorrow I`m at work again for 12 hours, so jobs that can wait will have to wait some more!
This evening I`ll cook for tomorrow as well as tonight.

I have made 2 lists for Thursday - which one I`ll attempt to follow depends on the weather.

Finally made it to the doctor's and I have a Vitamin D deficiency. Not sure if it will help with the tiredness and will take a while as I only have to take one tablet a week.

The bulky waste collection went today. Yesterday DS3 and I took out the king sized mattress and bed base + four storage drawers, double mattress (which was lurking under my bed 'Justin Case' all DS3's friends came at once - gf shares with him, we have a single bed downstairs with 2 mattresses, so extra can go on the floor and 2 couches), desk and set of drawers. All done in stages with lots of rests in between.

House still looks an utter mess but I am so glad DS3 agreed to part with some of the things in the bed drawers. I originally planned to keep them and put them under my bed but my new strategy is that if something can be emptied and the contents relocated, then it goes. The pieces of furniture I want to keep can probably be counted on one hand so the more that goes, the better.

Strain of getting to the doctor's (and probably yesterday's exertions) meant I went back to bed and have slept for a good part of the afternoon as well.

I have folded up all the plastic covers which were used to keep the bulky items dry, put out the bins and turned the fridge (up or down, depending on how you look at it). It felt warm in there and some things had gone fuzzy in 2 days. So a higher setting but temperature is down.

Not planning anything else tonight but hoping for good things tomorrow.

Edit Just checked on symptoms of vit d deficiency and it includes joint or muscle pain, bone pain, tiredness and depression so tick all boxes and the depression seemed to come out of nowhere when I thought I was doing ok. I don't get on with the sun - even yesterday's little forays up and down the garden with sun cream slathered on has brought out my sun related eczema today.

I have diabetes so get my prescriptions free. Was talking at cross purposes with the doctor. He was going through saying all the things that were normal or good (showing my existing medications are doing their job).

I was pinning my hopes on thyroid as my grandmother had thyroid problems and went the same peculiar shape as I am now as she got older (beach ball on legs or try maternity dresses?). He went on with the litany of things that were good - I was starting to despair. I actually said I was old and fat and lazy and useless (if no medical reason for it) but he didn't hear me.

Then he asked about vitamin tablets and how long I'd been taking them. I thought he meant the daily vitamin and mineral tablet I started taking before Christmas ('flu' type thing that went on for months). I checked with him at the time as iron was included and it's contraindicated with one of my other pills.

However the other doctor must have read the report and had left a prescription for me at reception but no-one bothered to tell me. I am trying to keep positive, not get depressed, work on once again losing the excess weight but have been feeling overwhelmed. House is a mess, I need to work on making changes to my business (I am self-employed as I'm not a desirable prospect for anyone else) and the list of things that 'need' doing just seems to grow.

I have a good day and think things are improving and then find myself unable to get out of bed (frequent dizzy spells over the past few weeks as well). He did ask if I had anyone at home to 'help'. I said me youngest son still lived at home but tended to make more mess - he is also self-employed (doing better than me atm) and tends to re-arrange a room to suit himself and any equipment he is currently using, leaving corners which are inaccessible.

Sorry for moaning. I will return to being positive and keeping going and hope for better things.

    Hi Messies!

Mothernerd, don`t apologise for moaning here! I`m a bit confused about the doctors bit though. Have you now got a new prescription? Also, I must say you come across as anything but lazy or useless, I`ve read your posts and admired your getting stuff done despite your difficulties, it has sometimes helped me give myself a kick and get on with things, honestly.

I`m still procrastinating far too much.
I DO get on with the `basics` - shopping/cooking/ laundry, and keep kitchen and LR reasonably clean and tidy. Then I tend to sit on my laurels about that and get letrhargic about tackling bigger jobs. I`m feeling very conscious of the year creeping on, the garden is always a challenge and I`ve done a good bit out there but not enough.

I`m taking some heavy cotton floor rugs to launderette, and doing a bit of freezer tetris, but the day is young and I hope to get more done today.

MOTHERNERD, I never class it as moaning if it's for a good reason, which yours deffo is.Pain etc understandably make it harder, for us to carry on as we were always able to :(
My house, which is never the tidiest, is jam packed with stuff my DD has brought round, cos they're moving this weekend. Some of it is useful, but other bits grrrr! Cos I can't carry stuff, i'm having the kids over to keep them out of the way :)
In the meantime sod the housework, i'm gonba sit in the sun xx

Ive just pottered in the garden for the last two days. Caught up with a friend and walked home from her place along a horrible lane, so my March will have burned off a few calories.

Mothernerd, I agree, it's not moaning, we all need to get things off our chest.

We've had a bit of a blitz this morning, I'm catching up on laundry (it had started to leave the basket and spread out a little), kitchen looks good - mainly down to OH, he's done the lawn, washed the front door and and few other bits. I've put all clean laundry away, done the washing up, cleaned out the beasts and had a general tidy.

We're going to do some weeding now, we haven't touched the garden this year due to the building work etc, needless to say it is a MESS!

    Enjoy your weekend.

I got home last night after a very pleasant day on the ward.
DGD had done their washing up before her mum came
    to collect her.
BUT - then DS `tidied` his room, (I`d been forewarned his GF would be visiting this week, prob Tuesday..) as GF was arriving Sunday evening.
    His `tidying`-
sink full of dishes/mugs and some itinerant forks he awore he hadn`t got in his room.
Washer full of his stuff, not washed (thankfully as it was so packed full the door wouldn`t close!)
Big box of `useful` computer bits in the hall `out of the way`.
GF had arrived about ten minutes before I got home.

So, I cleared minimum in kitchen to do egg & bacon for me & OH, told DS he was cooking their egg & bacon when they were ready for it, and went to bed.

Today, I`ve got 3 loads of washing out to dry and cleared the kitchen properly. Not worth getting in a strop, and don`t want GF to feel awkward either. At least we have enough forks to eat with now!!

I`m now going to calmly enjoy doing some cooking - lamb curry, lamb already slow-cooked was originally for last night but couldn`t be bothered.
Rhubarb and marmalade tarts (nicked from Jus-roll website, very nice!) as when GF is here it`s my chance to do puds, the menfolk aren`t keen and it`s nice not to pig out alone!
