My home is a mess

Hi Messies.
I`ve been a bit preoccupied today as it was `results` day - histology report on the cyst & other gubbins they removed. It`s All Clear (PHEW!!!) - except they found some pre-cancer cells on cervix, but as they de-cluttered that at the same time it`s been dealt with. All very relieved chez-Emm!
To celebrate, I`m doing hammy cabbage & potatoes tonight, in cast-iron pot which OH will man-handle as required while I do the stirry bits.
Alec E - I`ve bought some scrubby things today too (Amazon) saw a thing about magic sponges on here & was ordering a birthday pressie for 2nd youngest DGS.
Buffy - well done for getting rid of a carload! And in your room only has a corner of Doom it sounds like you`re getting somewhere!
((HUGS)) to all. Its been a very huggy afternoon!0 -

Right I have been wondering this holiday - Am I right in the JPSCloud is missing in action? Has she posted ? Did I miss it?
JPS - if you are reading post and let us know you are ok? Am hoping you went away on home xxx
My weekend was LOVELY. One awkward conversation but its ok, I feel better for it.
Of course I have come home to my room which is just embarrassing mess of huge proportions!
Does anyone have any tips on dealing with paperwork?
It is my biggest problem. ugh.
xxxxx
Oh yikes messies, I am sorry for making you worry! And thank you so much for caring about me!
I'm absolutely fine, just haven't been on MSE as much recently. I go through little phases like that - actually thinking about it, this one might have something to do with being able to catch up on tv that I would have missed normally (after getting the talktalk thingy). I've been really absorbed with the documentaries and natural history stuff that I would normally have just missed out on.
Just popped my head round the door again tonight and saw that people were asking after me... I really am touched, what a great bunch us messies are!
Emm, really glad to hear all went well for you - don't do too much now missus, take it easy!
I haven't caught up on everyone's news yet so apologies for anything else I've missed, will go and have a read.
Extra appreciative dodgy hugs for all of you :grouphug:
Edit: Emm, fantastic news!! :j:j:jI believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

Evening Messies.
Emms, great news! So happy for you, and I'm sure you'll take it as easy as patience will allow you.
Great to see you, JPS. Of course, you'll just have returned to work, but I hope all the catching up with tv etc made for an enjoyable Easter break. I find that time goes so quickly and, if you don't call in here each day, time goes by very quickly and, before I know it, there are LOADS of posts to go through.
Buffy, well done for the big clear-up - so you have a bit more space now.
:rotfl: Love it, alec e, when we get excited about a new washing-up bowl! Is that going to be a new bunny bath?I am joking, of course, although we do occasionally bath our long-haired guinea pig, as her hair picks up all sorts of yuk.
Have done very little de-messying the last two days, as I've been on a course - excellent, but intensive and quite emotional for two of us. It was well worth it, though, but I'm exhausted now. I have managed to do a WM load, and put dried washing away. Have also cleaned coffee off the kitchen floor. Apparently, this morning OH managed to miss his mug with a spoonful of coffee. Although he celaned up, without his glassess, he couldn't see it all. During the day, the granules absorbed mositure from the air, and we were left with lots of little dark, hard to wipe, dark spots on the laminate. Bless him - just as well I love him! With the course over, I now have to concentrate on preparing for the craft group.0 -
Well whilst there's a bit of clutter still around the place here I don't think it's too bad. Bits of paperwork (especially opened and useless envelopes) seem to collect all by themselves. Anyone know how they manage this?!
Two things in the near future are going to require me to make the place properly tidy. Firstly I've been meaning to get the central heating boiler serviced (it should really have been done before Christmas). Secondly I'm going to be transferring mortgage providers so someone will be coming round to do a valuation. All this should happen in the next few weeks or so. I guess that's pretty good motivation.
My parents have commented that it's been a while since they last came round here. They know I'm not the tidiest of people so perhaps I should purposefully invite them round so they can see I'm not living in a health hazard. Although they seem to see mess where I don't so I'm a bit anxious that I'll get lectured to. They helped me buy this place so I guess it's fair for them to pass comment though.
Away to do the dishes before turning in - for once.0 -
hello Messies,
Good to see you JPS xxx
I wish it had been a big clear out. Well I suppose it was a big clear out just not big enough, between the unmade decisions and the lack of space I am positive tidying the house will make a difference.
I NEED MY SPACE!!!!!!!!!
The corner of doom is slightly less doomy and now more boxy I must away to bed
take care all
Love Buffy xxNevertheless she persisted.0 -
Thanks again for the welcomes back
I managed to get a bit of gardening done over the holidays - it was blisteringly cold but sunny and dry so I got some clearing up done at the bottom end of the garden. Just have to wait for the garden waste bin to be emptied now, so I can fill it up again!
I did nothing but essentials in the house, despite thinking I might actually get in the spare room of doom this time! Messy as ever, but I really am hoping to get my living space nice to live in rather than tripping over stuff all the time.
Yes, back at work... bleh. Actually I do really enjoy my job and am very grateful to have it, but getting out early and in late means I don't get much me time in the week.
Hoping for nice weather this weekend, and possibly a bit more gardening.
Keep well messies!I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

Many a true word spoken in jest bearcub, the bunny litter tray is a big washing up bowl! We have never had to bathe them but I have had to defluff their favourite rug with a roll of sticky tape this morning. I think there's more on my clothes then anywhere else.
Good news Emm, glad to hear all is well.0 -
Hi Messies!
JPS I`m so glad you`re still with us! I was just thinking about you and your `cricket-wrangling` adventures last year, and wondering whether there`d be another go this year. Thought association - I was wondering if it`s nearly warm enough for my bee-grublings to be hatching, if they survived the winter, but hoping they wait till there`s apple blossom for them - leaf buds only just appearing now. OH won`t let me go potter outside `in case I stumble or something`(??!) More chance of stumbling in kitchen here, the floor is getting quite Interesting...but they`re being so good about everything else I don`t want to be more bossy than I need be!
Bearcub - my DS has a blind spot for little bits of instant coffee granules, it`s a constant thing here.
Grousescot - sounds like a good combination of impending visits for some de-messifying motivation. How long have you got?
Messy Status Report-
Today I have done Absolutely Nothing. Except eat (egg & lettuce butties, & a whole pink grapefruit, most of which I am wearing!) and doze on sofa while half listening to Lord Peter Wimsey on i-player (5 episodes). Didn`t really follow the plot so this`ll be good for another listen!
The only exercise I`ve had is getting up to put on next episode, or make another butty, but I have been doing my physio stuff while lying on sofa. I have been pretty idle, and not fidgetty or needing to potter. Till now.
Now I feel like getting going again, want to do things -
List
1)Rummage for stir-fry stuff for tonight. Might change menu depending on what I find in spare room of Doom/upstairs freezer.
2) Rummage amongst clothes for old baggy trousers, nightie-life is getting on my nerves now!
3) Rummage in drawers & bags upstairs to find lighters. There`s loads of spares knocking around, but mine and the kitchen ones are both empty and one thing I didn`t stock up on before was re-fill for them.
4) Might even sneak out to caravan of Doom, just for a `stock-check`. Don`t tell anyone...0 -
Great to hear you're getting antsy to be up and about Emm! Isn't it strange how enforced rest is never the bliss we expect it to be (or dream about?!)
I was thinking about the bees as well with the warmer weather - must go and have a nosy around and see if I can spot any at the weekend.
I'm not sure whether to repeat the cricket adventures this year. I took the wise advice someone on this thread gave, and bought a CD which is a fair substitute and was very nice to fall asleep to, but I left it on repeat one night by accident and it drove me mad! It just woke me enough to notice it, but not enough to make me stir my bones and actually switch it off - so of course I lay there gritting my teeth instead of doing the sensible thing!
Try not to do too much Emm, enjoy the rest!I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

Love it, jps, that's the kind of thing I'd do, lie there and feel annoyed but not turn the thing off!
Due to the windy weather last night we decided to sleep in the other bedroom. No-one has stayed for a while so it was a little bit stale in there so today I've done a little bit of a spring clean - tidied the cupboard, cleaned the blinds, cleaned the woodwork, dusted, washed the window, changed the bedding, flipped the mattress, even cleaned the slats on the bed. Smells nice and fresh now. The wind has died down a bit so I've got the window open and hopefully it'll be gorgeous by this evening.
Have a good day all.0
