No way should u cover ur tats up! if u love them and are comfortable showing them off then go for it! Don't listen to all those people who supposedly 'cringe' when they see them - for goodness sake, how dramatic! I have several tats, all of which can be covered by my dress, but even if they couldn't be covered I would show them off with pride! I will make sure that my photographer gets some pics to show the ones on my feet on my wedding day! :) No one should be so insensitive as to make u feel like u should cover them up, especially not family members - that makes me mad! If you have already had your big day, let us know what you decided! :)
  • I remember Katerinasol's wedding photos from a few months ago - she had her tattoos on show, and looked beautiful!

I don't think she comes onto this board anymore now she's married - haven't seen her for a while anyway!

katerina is still around, saw her fairly recently on the motoring boards. she did look beautiful on her day and I think her tattoos only added to how nice she looked, especially in the black and white ones.
  • Hello everyone, can't believe some of you remember me! :D

This is what I ended up doing in the end:
    wedding1.jpg

    wedding2.jpg

Didn't cover anything up and it was such a non-issue in the end that I'm surprised I got so wound up over it!

Can't believe that was only back in July, seems like a lifetime ago...

You look amazing :D and that tatoos are hardly noticeable .
I only have a samll tattoo on the top of my arm...I was adimant I didn't want it on the photos so I did have a wrap during the ceremoney and photos but in evening I took it off. Even tho hubby is not keen on it....it didn't bother him on the day....but I covered it because I wanted to not because I was told to. In fact if that had been the case I'd have purposelly not covered it :p

I have tattoos and it never entered my head that I should cover them. I'm a little bit at a loss as to why someone would think they can even say something like that to you.

Did you want to cover them before they mentioned it? If not when asked (I can't actually believe someone would ask that..... to me it's like saying, and will you get your hair cut for the wedding? and will you be growing your nails? and will you loose weight? it's totally changing who you are....) just reply with 'no I never considered it'.

    and leave it at that.
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....

Oh my word you looked amazing!!

What a beautiful dress and veil. Your husband looks very happy.
  • I dont like tattoos on men or women. When I see one I always wonder why they do it....they are horrible IMO.
But that is only my opinion. Having said that I fervently believe that we should be true to ourselves and not be brow beaten into doing something just to please others.
You chose to have tattoos, they are part of you so if anyone doesnt want to see them at your wedding....tough. Its not your problem, its theirs. If you want them on show at your wedding then why shouldnt you. If anyone objects, ignore them.... they will get over it. Its your big day.... your way!
