I Can't Use My HP PSC 2410 Printer Due to Error Message - Help!

Hi Everyone,
A few weeks ago I got a colour cartridge from Tescos for this HP PSC 2410 and it worked fine so when my black ink ran out I did the same for that but the printer wouldn't accept it (kept saying it wasn't supported) so I just put the old empty one back in and it worked for a day but after that it just flashing a message up saying "Remove and check Print Cartridges." When I do this, however, as soon as I put them back in it just says the same thing and keeps flashing and I can't get rid of the message or print, scan or copy anything.
I took the tesco's black cartridge back and got a genuine HP one hoping this would solve the problem but it hasn't - it's still flashing the same message and I can't get it to print anything. I guess I'll now need to buy a new genuine HP colour cartridge and hope that solves the problem but they are quite expensive and I was hoping there may be something I can do to at least get it to print in black ink while I maybe order it online from somewhere cheaper than the high street shops! Does anyone have any ideas as to what's going on? I don't understand why it accepted the colour one for weeks and is now unhappy with it. Thanks for any help.
Regards
Michelle
