upgrade question

Agreed to upgrade from CPW callcentre. sony Erikson w710i ( said it was latest!) Said he would give automatic cashback of£210 - they were ditching redemption thing. When I went over new contract it will be costing me quite a bit of money and not really what i want - 500txt for 6months and 250xnet mins. - not really much better than I have - £35.00per mth (cashback redemption makes it £17.50per mnth) reverts back to 250xnet and 100txt thereafter. Told him I still havn't had chequeback from month 8 bill and how can I reclaim month 12 bill when I will no longer have original contract - said just to send bill that I get?
Feel I would just be as well to wait and get new contract with better handset choice. Can I terminate the new contract within the 14 day period?
Any advice please. thanks

YOu should have no problems in terminating the contract within 14 days.

Been on phone to CPW to return phone and get pac no. Said I couldn't do this as this was an upgrade. I could swap phone for either motorola V3i or nokia 6330. could not do anything about contract. Said not happy as I was under the impression that "if i changed my mind I could send phone back". Didn't explain to me that I couldn't change details of contract. Is this the case?
