I know you can apply to for JSA online and the jobsearch facility on direct gov, so i can only see problems that have already been stated. As for closing down jobcentres i think smaller towns may lose theirs but larger towns and cities will more than likely keep their jobcentres.

Seriously, doesn't everyone have a library with a computer room in their town or close by? My local one always has people waiting on computer availability.

I haven't been in a jobcentre since 2000, I do all my job hunting online.

Now waits for the posts by people "living out in the sticks" to respond with "My nearest library is x miles away".

There ARE many people who do live some distance from the nearest town or city. It also has to be borne in mind that many of our existing libraries are going to be cut:mad::(. All that is before we even start considering that there are restrictions as to how long someone is going to be allowed to use a computer for anyway in a library - because of the number of other people waiting to do so too.

So surely you would fork out the £10 a month for internet access then? My Dad is 71, I've just given him my old laptop and he's all hooked up, ready to go.

The closures have yet to be confirmed, and for those of us fighting the closures *over our dead bodies.*

Until he starts emailing you day and night as he has issues with the laptop then you'll be cutting the telephone wires ;o)))))
