Erm... never?! They do not demonstrate good lending by the banks. The risk is too high. Deposit is the only way now.0

I expect the first report from the banking review on monday to say that mortgages wont be allowed to be over 90% of the total value. This is what most people are saying will happen, and it will helped to stop lax lending from ever returning again.I am not a financial expert, and the post above is merely my opinion.:j0

I take it by "most people", you mean the voices in your head.....“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

What is the salary multiples for mortgages in the UK?
Over here it is up to 5 or 6 x joint salary (for a joint mortgage obviously)0 -
I think 100% mortgage will return in some form in the next 18 or so months. Probably similar to the NR debacle 90% secured 10% unsecured loan.
Personally i am not against 100% mortgages as long as the salary multiple is sensible like less than 3 x single, 2.5 x joint or something. I don't have an issue with ltv's more the lending of silly multiples to those with a track record that is more than a little wobbly.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/2000
