Fit for purpose/sale of goods act

Iv'e read several posts on here over time of quotes from the sale of goods act regarding items being "fit for purpose".

This is regarding the door handles on a 6 year old car that has razor sharp chrome steel spikes sticking out from the door. It's the bit of the exterior door handle that doesn't move, (the button on old fashioned cars). Now this isn't subject to wear and tear.

The reason for the post is that my grandson sliced his finger on the rear passenger door the other day so something has to be done and my gut instinct is that this should not happen so I should not stand the cost.
I looked at a car sales spot yesterday and several other cars from the manufacturer where displaying the same problem so I would lay odds on the manufacturer knowing about this.
Off to see the dealership tomorrow so would just like any available "amunition" to shoot at them.;)
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

Well I'm gonna try 'em. I did hear this is a known issue and they extended the waranty as it shouldn't have happened.

Nothing to do with wear at all, you hardly ever touch them, and I'm told it only affects the brushed chrome ones.
