Has anyone got one of these HTC phones and had troubles with the screen freezing, especially on start up?
Must admit this thing has been a love/hate relationship for me, now today I restarted it because of lost signal and it got as far as the white screen displaying the software etc.
So what have I done? well I have pulled the sim card out, the hd card, left the battery out for hours, tried a hard restart (hit the red button), tried restarting it hooked to the lap-top & still the same result. I can't access the phone through USB because the computer doesn't find any extra drives, so can't delete the pics & various files
Really stuck, anyone got any suggestions?

Are your files on the SD card or the phones internal memory?
I've never used one of the Windows OS phones so don't know a way to access them.
Can you get to the Three Colour (boot loader) screen? (Think it's holding Volume down while powering up.)?Laters

most of the files are on the phone, about 75% of the memory is used
this is as far as it gets.......0 -
All I can suggest is reinstalling the original rom in case its been corrupted somehow, however it does mean any data on the phone will be erased. Can you get into the tri colour bootloader menu?
Looking at your picture your also using a very old rom and radio so an update could be beneficial.0 -

I've downloaded it but first get a sign up to say its not a valid application and second how do i get it on the phone, the computer can't find it with the USB connected0 -
Hold the volume down button while turning the phone on, it should boot to a red, green blue and white screen with the word serial at the bottom, connect to computer and it should change to usb.
It shouldnt say its an invalid application though.
The second way would be, if you have a 2gb memory card for the phone.Format the memory card. Extract the rom you downloaded from htc, inside you will find a large file called RUUsigned.nbh, rename it LEOIMG.nbh and place it on the memory card.
Hold volume down button and turn your phone on, then just follow the onscreen instructions.
Heres the video I used the first time I did it, hope it helps.

I have the same phone, only occasionally get a problem where the screen freezes and have to pull the battery out etc, but not had this problem. I'm guessing it's not still under warranty? Hope you get it sorted - when things like this happen it is a timely reminder to back-up your phone regularly (which I don't at the moment!!!).0

Sir, you're a genius!......got as far as this now (which is a first), computer runs some software to say its installing something......thats as far as it gets though....switch it off and on again and still back to the same screen.
in fact its stopped working all together now......which it did for a while this morning0 -

I've been dodging between a couple of phones lately, the trusty Nokia and this "thing" which I never really liked after buying it but its handy for internet when travelling.....just this year I thought I would give it another chance ....... its on a one way ticket now :-)0 -
just to update you on this, some how I managed to reach the restore point after the blue/red/green screen, selected 'restore' and at this moment in time it is booting up the windows bit, so all looks positive now.
Strange bit is I did a restore with the red button in the back0 -
That red button is not a restore button its a soft reset, like turning the phone off and then on again.
If you followed the instructional video on youtube as it sounds like you have then youve completly reflashed the phones original rom an thats why its working again, either way im glad it sounds like youve sorted it an happy to be of assistance, for reference HTC phones also come with a 2 year warranty.0
