As Jim Royle says, Watchdog my !!!!, Watchdog have no power to do anything to anyone and I don't know why people bother.

Seen it a few times and Ann Robinson basically sits there asking questions of managing directors etc and they just bat everything back at her and you think err what was the point of the last 5 minutes, absoultely nothing has happened.

All they can do is warn people of scams, but then there are thousands of posts around the net every week about scams, but do people read them, obviously many don't by the amount that still fall for this sort of thing.

Thank you for your email regarding ezeloans.net. I especially sorry to hear
that your brother was taken advantage of by them.

The adverts that ezeloans still use are no longer valid with Pizza Hut. So
we can confirm that the company is no longer in association with them.

However I would like to thank you for bringing this to our attention; so
that I can forward it to Marketing so that they can investigate the matter
further if they are still putting our name on their web site.

    Kind Regards

I had a cheque refund for 74.85 last week after emailing daily.

It was always "chris" or "rebecca" that the email responses came from, I didn't send a letter as requested to the london address but told them in an email that i'd sent them a letter by recorded delivery and said it was showing as signed for in june etc. I figured that if there was no-one at that address then they'd have to accept my word for it.

I emailed daily saying that my letter had been received xxx amount of days ago and still no refund had been received, then i got an email saying thank you for sending the refund request and it was being actioned within 7 - 14 days.

less than a week after that, I received my cheque.

so... don't waste your time or money sending a letter, just email their helpdesk and insist you've sent a letter and demand a refund immediately and you'll eventually get it!

I had a lot of bother getting money back of Ezeloans but through pure determination that they weren't going to get any of my money I eventually managed to get a full refund!

I got all the standard computer generated e-mails as everyone else, they send the first 2 standard ones & then eventually you get the e-mail telling you their address. I sent TWO recorded delivery letters which were both signed for and as far as I was aware, I would receive my money after 14 days.......14 days later & nothing! They wouldn't even reply to e-mails to confirm that they had recieved my cancellation latter.

I kept on emailing and was back to stage 1 with the same standard 3 emails & then I lost my patience! I threatened them with everything, see the following email which I sent:

"I have also received this e-mail a number of times, let me guess is the next one an email confirming how to cancel?????? Coz Ive received that one 2!

I have already told you that I have already cancelled my account over 2 weeks ago. I have evidence of confirmation that I will receive a refund within 14 days of that cancellation. I never got this refund, I can't get any sort of helpful response from you and I am now completely fed up with your company.

Expect to get a solicitors letter shortly. I am also going to report your company to trading standards, the FSA, the police and the financial ombundsman unless I receive my refund in the next couple of days. I have all the evidence here to have a very strong case against your Company.

I know for a fact that I was within the 14 days cancellation period because the payment was taken off my new debit card which was only issued to myself a day or two before the payment was taken. I also have a e-mail confirming that you will refund me so really you do not have a leg to stand on.

The reason that this has been so difficult is all down to you. I have been patient and co-operated with you the whole time but it seems to have got me nowhere."

They replied once again with an email with cancellation details so I replied with this:
"I have already sent TWO letters to your company, both by recorded delivery and both which have been signed for.

How many times do I have to give you this information????????????

Sory out my refund IMMEDIATELY please or I will report you to the Financial Ombundsman who I believe will charge your company £450 to investigate your company and will most definitely find in MY favour!!!!!

Up to you - £67.60 or £450 or more?

I am also very tempted to get a petition of every person I can find (and believe me I have already found many on forums) who have had the same problems as me with your Company, and produce this to the Ombundsman and also encourage all these people to claim their money back.

Your Company is ridiculous and sickening! It provides little or no help whatsoever to vulnerable people and rips them off! Then these innocent people are not even given a chance to get back what is rightfully theirs.

Oh and by the way I know you are advertising an address at which you are not longer trading at. One word for you - FRAUD!!!"

This soon got their attention and straight away I got an e-mail asking for the tracking number on my recorded delivery letter and then an email confirming that they had received my cancellation letter and I would have full refund within 14 days - the money was back in my bank a week later.

It took a long time to get my money back of these people but you just need to perservere and basically threaten them with everything. They try to fobb you off with the same emails over and over again in the hope that you with get fed up and just give up but DONT let them get away with it!

Also if you have given your debit card details out to these people, order a new debit card and cancel your old one so as they have no chance of taking money out of your bank again! The money can still be refunded through the cancelled card but no more funds can be taken out!

this was the tactic that got my money refunded I think, telling them that I would get them investigated and it would cost them £400 odd quid, I think when they get that on email, they realise that we know our rights and they will refund.

after all, if they only refund a few of us that persevere, just think how much they are still making out of all those that just give up.

  • My son was "conned" by Elephant Loans. Applied on line, they rang him up and took details then said the loan had been approved and quoted repayment costs. Then said if he was happy with the loan and repayments he would just have to reply to a mail saying that he accepted and there was an arrangement fee of £59 which he paid using his debit card. A week after the loan was supposed to be in his bank and after several phone calls with no answer, he managed to get hold of them today. They told him the money would be in his bank this afternoon. This afternoon he had a text from them to say the loan had been declined...

I hope you don't seriously think there is a loan coming from anywhere. It isn't going to happen.
