    Good post.

Should be made a sticky in 10ft high neon letters so I don't have to trawl through endless bollox about brokers taking fees and Payday loan companies who actually want their money back every time I log on....

I have become aware of EzeLoans because they are using my company's address and phone number! I run a small IT consultancy called 7N. It has nothing to do with EzeLoans. About two weeks ago we started receiving calls to our 0870 number about loans, repayments etc. All very strange as we are an IT consultancy. We thought it was a typo on some other company's website and would be corrected. The calls kept on coming. On further investigation we find that they are using our company address.

We use shared office space (Regus), so perhaps the address is just coincidence. I cannot find a phone number on any ezeloans.net website. The only number I found associated with ezeloans is given by a commenter on Yahoo! Answers and it is my company number, not ezeloans. Perhaps they Googled the address, ended up on our website, and despite it being called "7N" not ezeloans they posted the number they found there in the Yahoo! group. Unfortunately people are now finding that number on the Yahoo group and calling it. It is not ezeloans, it is 7N. Sorry, but we can't help you.

Even stranger, we happened to change address during this time and EzeLoans have adopted our new address (Wood St) too. They seem to be stalking us!

I've just checked your (7N) website and compared the address mentioned on it with the one given by ezeloans. You right, they are using the same address as you. Do you, perhaps, share a building/address with other companies?

It appears ezeloans don't want to be contacted by telephone: they don't give a phone number on their website. However your company's number is mentioned for them in an answer at http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110414025900AAjp523:
    I have found a telephone number the building is 7N Ltd - 0870 766 7715

When i asked to speak to eze loans they cut off.
  • @SnowTiger - the address at 88 Wood St is Regus, the well known office space provider. We, along with dozens of other companies, use their facilities. And yes, the phone number posted on Yahoo! Answers is our 0870 number. The contributor to Yahoo! seems to have Googled the address, ended up at our website and although it is obviously not eze loans, taken our number and posted it on Yahoo! Consequently we are now taking about 10 calls a day from eze loans customers.

The "question" on Yahoo! is now closed so I can't post a reply but I have posted a comment and also asked Yahoo! to take down the answer as it is erroneous.

Payday Loans: ... Others may seem more generous in their payment terms, quoting repayments over a period of six months. Lending Steam for example does so,
I'm quite sure I'd not want to borrow steam. :p

  • Tomorrow has been 14 days since I sent away my letter in the post RECORDED. Decided to email them last night just to see what they would say and at 9am I got the same usual email saying that I am a member and they have taken a member fee from me! They must just keep sending the same 2 emails to everybody!

What do I do now? I still have my recorded reciept from the post office.

P.S away to phone the Financial Ombudsman too

How did you pay? Visa credit card or debit card? If so, I wonder if you could claim the money back via the Visa Chargeback scheme?

Interestingly ezeloans' terms and conditions regarding cancellation are incomplete.

    http://www.ezeloans.net/terms.aspx:
4.2 Under the Financial Services (Distance Marketing) Regulations 2004 you have a right to cancel your application within 14 days of receiving these terms and conditions and receive a refund. If You wish to cancel your application, You must write to us confirming your request to cancel your application, either in writing to: Customer Services, Ezeloans.net, 88 Wood Street, London, EC2V 7RS.
"Either in writing" or what? Looks like something has been deleted. :rotfl:

lol, I have been wondering about the "what" is since day 1. I can only assume it was meant to say call us. Well, I emailed them earlier telling them i had complained to the FOS, I then was sent an email from them only 3 minutes later saying they had received my letter in the post and would reimburse me my money back to my bank with in 14 days. To be honest, I am not going to hold my breath. I shall wait the 14 days though before moving to the next step.

I believe the traditional Aberdonian response to such an error would be "Fa?", though one might expect a more verbose response in Cults. :p
