Speedtouch connection problem

Hi.

Sorry- this is not much of a money saving post!.My Orange connection runs fine for about 20 mins but then the speedtouch connection shows 100's of errors recieved and will not work unless i unplug the phone lead from the back and re plug it in.It then works fine again for about 20 mins and same happens?!.

Does anyone know what causes the speedtouch to recieve all these errors?.Could it be that my line can not handle the speed they have given me?(1mb, but most providers say i can only get 512k).Thanks.......Neil

i had the speedtouch 330 through virgin and was getting disconnected all the time ,i have gone back to using the sagem modem from tiscali(my old account) all the problems appear to be resolved. if possible try another modem HTH
  • I think the 1st thing you need to try is this either an nother modem as per above or take your kit inc filters round a mates house with broband and try there .make sure you chane passwordds though . I've used a speed touch with no probs but at least it would prove weaver or not the faults with your kit or the line

check the availability checker on https://www.samknows.com and this will tell you the speed you should be able to receive on your line. Normally if the line can't handle the speed you get a connection for a couple of mins then it will either slow right down or give you no connection at all without any error messages so it sounds like an equipment problem to me.
