    M12 x 40mm 1.25 thread 10.9 79p each plus a small bit of postage.

    Sounds like a really bad idea, re-tapping a M12 x 1.25 so it takes a M12 x 1.75 is not going to have anywhere near the required strength.

    But that would make the 8.8 v 10.9 TS discussion a bit academic

    You could drill out oversize and put a helicoil in if there is enough meat but it would be way easier to just get the right bolts

    I've ordered bolts off ebay a few times.Saves traipsing around looking for the right ones and generally pretty cheap.
