ikea family mobile = cheapest payg?

I've been with Ikea family mobile for over 2 years now and find it very cheap to use (8p/min, 4p/t). The automatic top up is very handy, too.
It is a nightmare to compare phone tariffs so does anybody know of more competitive deals? I am a veeeeeeeeeeeeery low user. (5 text + 5 calls/month) Just for emergencies.
Thanks

    Thanks

    So if you make say 20mins of calls and 5 texts a month thats £1.80 a month.

    You pay 8p min and 4p text thats £1.60 a month

    Lets say you are able to get it down to 7p a min and 3p a text that would mean you would save 25p a month so a total of £3 a year ..........One has to ask is it worth changing or even going to the expence of doing it to save such a small amount :eek:
    It's not just about the money
  • Thanks for the maths to illustrate the deal. I suppose 1 reason for asking is that through all the comparison sites incl. this one the IFM-option just never (hardly) get's mentioned. Am I the only person who uses their mobile so little? And even with some of these normal 'so called' payg packages you'd pay loads more if you were a more frequent user.

    Less than a pound spent on GiffGaff this last few weeks . So you are not unusual in low phone usage .My record 48p over two years .

    Unless you need mobile data its hardly worth changing your current PAY .

    No, I am the same and it will be even worse as I have switched to GiffGaff along with my hubby and son and they are generally the only people I phone or text - and then it is only for neccessity. I would love to know what these people that have their phones glued to their ear and say that they have too few minutes actually talk about !!!

    I put £10 on my old phone before we went on holiday to Italy last August and it is still on plus a couple of pounds that was already on.

    I have just treated myself to an Orange Sanfrancisco so it will be the data that uses my credit with GiffGaff. (At 20p a day I am not complaining.)

    Tesco and ASDA both offer the same 8p/4p tariff.

    Main difference is the network they use.
    IKEA=T-Mobile
    Tesco=O2
    ASDA=Vodafone

    Where's the saving in buying a phone for £1,100 and then using it for £0.48 over 2 years?
  • Don't bother moving. I went over to Vectone a while back and then had awful problems topping up, so much so that I left. I use Asda now and they are great.
