Skype sound quality.

I've used skype for months on my iPhone 4 to call family abroad.

Made a call last week and for some reason it sounded as though the other person was talking through that noise the TV makes when the 'snow' channel is on.

Didn't think anything of it, signed out, signed back in, still there. Uninstalled skype and reinstalled, still there. Reset my network settings, still there. Tried using 3G instead of wifi, still there. Going to try a full restore tomorrow but was wondering if anyone could give me any idea's about what might be causing it?

Currently in the process of getting everyone I call to sign up to sipgate so I can use that instead (in the hopes of stopping the constant drops I get with skype), but in the mean time I'm stuck with skype.

The other person can hear me perfectly, but I'm stuck with the fuzzy background noise.

I have VM's 50meg Internet so not a slow connection, despite skype constantly telling me the speed is average.

So does anyone have any idea's on what might be calling this and how I can make it stop?

Thanks.
Sigless

Have you tried calling someone else? If they can hear you fine, it may be a problem on their end, bad microphone, etc... I'm assuming you don't have problems using your iphone to make regular calls.

You could try calling yourself using skype on your computer and see if the problem still exists on either end. Put the phone in another room with speakerphone turned on.

    Thanks.

Yes. I've tried calling someone else and the same thing happens. No problems at all making regular calls.

Thanks, I've tried that, the recording of my voice is fine, but I still have the fuzziness. Poeple have no problem hearing me.
