I am looking at using my Tesco vouchers during the Easter clubcard exchange to get a new pay and go mobile phone.

Please can someone explain to me what the difference is between such technology like android and smartphones iphones windows phone apps phone etc?

My current mobile is a flip phone and still has buttons not like the new touchscreen technology. Ive also heared theres a difference with the types of windows they use as in heat sensitive or pressure sensitive?

Thanks

:)

    Think different brands.

    Android is Google
    Iphone is Apple
    Windows Phone is Microsoft.

Iphone is probably the most expensive, folows by Windows Mobile. Android is on a lot of phones so there are high and low end options,

Apps for one will not work on another unless it's been recoded for a different platform.

They'll all do the same stuff, email, web browsing etc, wht esle depends on what apps (applications) are written for them, most of the big things like Facebook are out on all platforms.

The difference is Capacative or resistive screens, and I'm sure you can google it. Capacative screens are best but they tend to only be on the more expensive phones.

To be honest start with a budget, an iPhone is about £500 unlocked for use as a PAYG mobile. It's not availalbe from Tesco Mobile yet on PAYG so thats not an option if you want to use vouchers.

Windows Mobile you really need to consider Version 7 not the older 6 or 6.5 But again not available from Tesco, so your pretty much limited by what you have to choose from with Tesco.

Somethign to consider is all smarphones use a lot of data they chatter to the internet all the time even when you think they are idle as they update themselves. You'll use at least 100MB maybe more up to 500mb a month, you need to consider adding or getting a free data bundle to your PAYG bundle or youll be spending a lot on data.

Android is an operating system for mobile devices, used by the majority of the competitors of Apple (iPhone).
Smatphone is a very vague term: Smartphone - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
    For Android vs. iPhone see:
Do you really need it? Was it worth it?
Will I regret the move from Apple to Android?

Don't know about heat sensitive screens, but capacitive ones are much better and more expensive than resistive.
