DABS.com Problems

It's a shame, because DABS used to be a really good company when they were relatively small and unknown. Seemed to go downhill rapidly when BT got involved.
I agree they used to be excellent in the early nineties.
But they started going down hill well before BT got involved. It was around the time they decided that customers were really rather a nuisance and removed all their telephone numbers (with the sole exception of corporate sales). There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -
personally, I think the first thing that suffers when money gets a bit tight, which is a really stupid, very short sighted attitude0

I ordered a number of components to build a PC, unfortunately the DVDrw was DOA - thankfully this was the cheapest item.
Dabs FAQ on the procedure for items which are DOA is unclear, so emailed their custromer services within the 7 days - this was back in February, and despite reminders absolutely zilch apart from the automated confo.
Even tried contacting David Atherton CEO, but I gather he doesn't like customers very much - he didn't reply either...........0 -
Is Atherton still there? I thought it was directly run by BT these days, however I may well be run.0

It's of no help to the OP, but there are many other, better components retailers. Anybody looking to buy from DABS.com and seeing this thread in advance will be better advised to look elsewhere.0

it's worth keeping it in mind, there are lots of other people having huge problems with very simple orders. one guy ordered a TV but got the free cables! and no TV0 -
Just made my first order on the Dabs website on 13/04/11, a replacement computer for my small business. Not only have they not delivered my order, the tracking consistenly says processing, they do not repoly to my emails and I will not go beyond 30 mins trying to phone them.
I wish i'd found these complaints before making the order to Dabs. What do i need to do to get my order/talk to Dabs?0 -
Worst ever customer service if you want a refund!
I placed an order with them in March
eventually in May they agreed I should get a full refund. It will soon be July and I have still to recieve the refund!
I am currently trying to contact a director or someone in senior management.
Regretfully I have to advise that you do not deal with them! You have been warned!0 -

I thought I'd add to this thread as of Dec/2011. On the 9th/Dec mother in law ordered a laptop on ebay's DAB's.com deal of the day. It was sent next day but never received.
They emailed an appology but have stopped replying to emails about the order. I called Yodel Oxford dep. and they tell me my parcel is lost I should contact DABS.
I used paypal with CC and have told them if they don't tell me how they are gonna make right this hickup, I'd issue a charge back as it's more than £15 according to my CC company. I don't care what paypal say either.
I called their customer service number on their website, finally got through to a woman who was rude, abrupt and I could hear her swearing on the phone when I told her that I'd issue a charge back. She told me because it was sold over ebay all I could do is emaill and when I told her I was calling because no one was emailing me back she didn't want to know. I hope they did record it for training purposes :rotfl:. What a joke.
I'm more upset that they until today are still selling said laptop with Christmas delivery and just hope noone else has to suffer this kind of service for what is good money. Any responsible company would have answer my requests even if it was to say they can't send out before Christmas, an answer is better than no reply.
I won't be using them again, Argos had a similar deal but was £25 more for a slightly better spec. laptop and was in stock at my local store for collection. I wish I'd not thought about saving £25 with all the hassle and looking at their recent negative replys, I'm not alone.
DABS.com 1 nil, but no more future custom so who's really scored? not you.
