Do not buy a policy from Cardif Pinnacle.
They also would not answer the question about payments whilst receiving sick pay from work (something which we asked about before taking out online) and we were then told we could still claim but when we have asked they confirm this in writing they just ignore the question. I am now having to take my complaint to the Ombudsman as we have asked that they refund the premiums paid as we could not use the policy to its full worth and their terms and conditions were not clear on this and nothing in them states about "Other income" and the risk is when like yourself you actually do need to claim. They will only commit to saying "in their opinion we should be able to claim on both our works policy which pays 75% of income and also our ASU policy with them which pays us a set amount. They failed to state on whether one would reduce the other and we would never know (as they just will not answer this) until we came to claim if we ever did that is. Its like gambling really. It should be clear for all to know advised or non advised and not answered as "in their opinion"!!0 -
I have worked with Cardif Pinnacle before and I actually belive they are OK in general. There are a lot worse insurers out there - believe me! I also think you're being tough on yourself here too.
As others have commented, it is standard for policies to payout at the end of the payment in lieu to finsish but it is standard for these to continue to payout until you return to work. JSA / Income benefit is irrelevant, unless you have a policy which is very unique (but I doubt that Pinnacle would provide such cover). Try calling them again and explain your concerns - I'm convinced you've misinterpreted the wordings - they are complaicated so get them to explain it. let us know how you get on.0 -

They would pay out but it would be reduced in our works policy by their amount so totally useless really. Why would anyone want to pay for something that did this? I have asked if they would pay out IF we continued getting wages in full from work and they will not answer so I am to take it that they would not.0 -
Did Cardif Pinnacle make you provide evidence (as well as the ABI1 form signed by the job centre that proves you are actively seeking work) to them of job apps, rejections etc? I have a MPPI policy with them and on the 2nd payment they have refused to pay me because i haven't provided evidence! Unbelievable, surely this cant be right, can it??0
