lidl do freesat systems for around £100 from time to time, supposedly very good.
I used to use a sky dish fitted to an upside down rotary clothers airer when I had sat in my caravan years ago (tripods were about £50, clothes airer £10)

We use an ordinary dish mounted on a short length of aluminium scaffolding tube.
After the van is sited, we remove the Jockey wheel and clamp the tube in its place.
(Works for us.)I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
Pretty much everything you need right here:

got a similar one on a static caravan, we use a cheap U-Bolt that we got from a car parts shop (its used to secure the exhaust) and bolt it to the wheel on the front turned upside down (if that makes sense)
Looks like with that your wouldnt need the U-bolt either:beer:0 -

Thanks for that,Do you know if a Sky + box will work in a caravan,Im pretty sure the rewind pause etc wont work?,also will a viewing card from a standard Sky box work in a Sky + box,if not do you know the difference between the blue cards and the white cards?
Many ThanksNorn Iron Club Member 4560 -
I've done some installs for Sky in the caravans sited just outside Groomsport,it's a standard dish so you'll need a larger size dish than used in England,so you'll need a 60cm Zone 2 dish. For the Sky+,you'll need 2 feeds from the dish & a quad LNB,Like what Kingsd316 linked to.The blue cards are the old cards that were switched off last year & replaced by the white ones.If you have Sky+ at home, you can always take your Sky+ box down to the caravan instead of buying a box.A viewing card from a standard box will only give you the channels but not the recording.

Not to sure to be honest but im sure someone will be along to answer.
I only ever take my Sky HD box from home so i dont have to worry about what channels will and wont work cause the card is already paired to the box
EDIT - Pretty much what spike7451 said!:beer:0 -

It for my Sister Im asking all these questions,so if she takes her card out of 2nd box at home,Sky standard box and uses it in Sky + box(yet to be sourced),it should work as the card is active?but she wont be able to pause rewind etc?,im trying to find a cost effective way to set this up for her, been looking on ebay gumtree etc.
Thanks for the help Guys!Norn Iron Club Member 4560 -
Sky cards are paired to a box for any premium channels you subscribe to, ie movies sport etc. you are right the sky plus feature would not work, if you have no card in the box you can still watch Free to veiw channels. With a card, regardless or whether it is paired you get free to air and free to view channels,
So simply put if the card is not paired with the box it wont matter what you subscribe to you will only get the same channels as a freeview box.
I think thats right but im sure i will get shot down if not,

Have a look at some of the car boot sales,a neighbour of mine has gotten a couple of Sky boxes from a Sunday boot sale somewhere off the Crumlin/Ballysillan Road area for around a tenner.0
