How does it work?

Options
Friend has just had a new line put in by Unicom (Via BT Openreach) she gets her phone from them and internet from Pipex (Now talktalk business) problem is the old number has ported onto the new line ok and all features are working but she has no broadband. She assumed that because old number was being transferred this would work ok, but when she quizzed the openreach engineer he said he couldnt enable the new line for broadband cos it wasnt on his worksheet, simple question - if the new line is made enabled by Unicom (via Openreach) should the talktalk internet then work off that ok??
cheers for listening

  • Transferring a phone number from one line to another does not transfer the broadband.

That would need to be arranged via Pipex. I assume they were supplying on the "old number" on another line - you'll need to get that ceased on the old line and provisioned on the new line.

The fact the new line has the same number as the old one has nothing at all to do with the broadband service. That's supplied to a line, not to a number.
