I work at the International Centre at a University, your living and tuition fees will be at least £16,000 a year. Why doesn't he do a 3 year undergraduate degree (unless he's already done one!) at his home state, and do an exchange in his second year at a uni in the UK?
    Extract from Uni website:
If you are an international student, you should ensure that you have enough funds to cover your tuition and living costs for the duration of your course before you apply for a visa. If you cannot provide an official letter from a sponsor stating that they will cover all of your fees and living costs for the duration of your course, you must be able to prove that you have sufficient funds to be able cover the cost of your course and your stay in the UK.
If he does receive a conditional offer, he will need to send the last 3 months of bank statements showing consistent income. A lump sum of £7k will not get past first base with most Universities - and will also be vetoed by the Border Agency.

In conclusion, don't, PLEASE don't get a loan on his behalf - you will regret it dearly.

Can i wish you well and hope all your dreams come true...
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

I'm on a Graduate scheme, and will get a permanent job in September (with more money!) so that should cover us

Is this an assumption or do have a job offer?
Note: I'm asking the question and not making the assumption.

My concern is that with many public sector employees being made redundant, it's extremely difficult to get work especially for those without experience.
I like to "hope for the best, plan for the worst" so I don't want to be negative, but it's very tough out there, especially for young people as employers will always pick people with more experience given a choice.
You may have it all sorted, but if it's an assumption then be aware it's very tought out there are going to get worse.
