When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important. :D

Hope I've done this right...first time starting small things thread on the whoopsie mac :p

So today's agenda (yes I was doing the ironing at some late hour last night ...someone call 911 LOL...LOVE my old ironing board gotten from the thrift sale the other month for £5....brilliant...Best ironing board I've had all year :))
AM

* Menu plan if not already done
* Food shop (well get coffee & squash)

PM

* Card make and write to sheena & TD
* Typing Tutor
* Read up on Eager learners
* Ironing

EVE

* Find a pattern for a tank top and start
* Mr M @ 8 or so for the bargains

Blessings

I'm early this morning - thanks Erme, for starting us off!

Bit of a shock this morning, as our current account was overdrawn :( OH's salary has not been paid in (it should have been), but a couple of payments have come out and tipped us into the red - have moved a bit of money over to cover it, and have fingers firmly crossed that the salary appears later. Seeing that minus figure was not at all nice.

    My list for today:
    • checked banking
    • check for/do surveys
    • laundry drying outside
    • do some banking in branch
    • lunch on leftovers
    • dinner from stores/menu
    • keep an eye on the bank balance!
    • clear a path through the house for new shed

I think that's about it for me today - hope everyone has a good day :)

Good morning everyone. Brilliant Grandma Day yesterday, back to "working woman" mode now. I'd prefer it the other way round - one day a fortnight at work and the rest of my time as "real life" but bills have to be paid etc....... :(

    So far today:
    • checked banking - WTC gone down :(
    • checked for surveys
    • fed and watered the chickens and asked for four eggs today
    • made lunch to take to work
    • scoured local paper for a different job
    I will also:
    • keep an eye on surveys throughout the day
    • do 20 minute powerwalk at lunchtime
    • lift to and from work
    • free drinks at work
    • use egg money to buy chicken food
    • left overs for dinner
    • spend some time in the sewing room tonight
    • have an NSD
That'll do for today, have a good one!

I think (like everything last year) at least 3 ...mostly from charity shops etc...One paid full price.. ...I know it's shocking  and I don't even iron that often. One iron (nope make that two ) for ironing. The other is for crafts and bad stuff which I need a lighter iron for (was only about £3.50)...My main iron (the heavy one) was about £10 and works fine (Just a Mr JL basics range....does me fine :))

So yeah inspired by Lucy's thread (seriously I must have been reading that thread for a good two hours this am from like 4-6am and am now paying for getting up so early.....Erme is a zombie and it's not yet 9am :roftl:) I'm going to have another bash at quitting the weed. Hoping to get strong patches and a little puffer cos I'm a really heavy smoker. Pray it goes well with smoking cessation worker @ 3.30pm...will keep you all posted...

the thing is I had a little time on the nasal spray (it's awful stuff but works) on my break in Inverness the other week - it was just for a few hours at a time but by the end of that I was craving nicotine and not cigs...so I know it can be done :) but like the last time I tried proper (on e-cig and spray) I had a nicotine overdose which ended in as much bother as if I'd not had enough nicotine so I don't want a repeat of that :(...so yeah...D day will be Sabbath if I get the NRT....if not maybe soon...

    Blessings
