Seeking Malaga budget hotel

We are off to Malaga on 15 May with Easyjet - less than £100 for two all inc- can't be bad? I suppose it's not very good for the environment but we don't fly too often.
We would like a hotel/pension within reasonable distance of centre / beach / sightseeing. I've looked at Ibis/Accor etc and they're pretty reasonable but if anyone has a recommendation I'd be grateful.
Thanks in anticipation

Whats your budget?
Dont you mind what area you stay in?
Is it for 1 week or 2?"Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."0 -

Thanks, I've bookmarked that one but I want to stay in Malaga to avoid need for car hire. Malaga is a good city with plenty of shops for my beloved and nice tapas bars for himself. Also the beach is ok and lots of walking opportunities.0 -
Learn from the mistakes of others - you won't live long enough to make them all yourself.0 -

Hi
I also recommend solmelia, they're the biggest chain in Spain and I've noticed that the prices on their website are much less than those (for same hotel and dates) on expedia.0 -
We stayed in the summer at Hostal Victoria in Sancha de Lara right in the centre near the Cathedral and Museo Picasso (and the shops!). It was 49 euros a night for a double room and bathroom. As it is in the centre there are plenty of places to eat and loads of tapas bars.
Should be cheaper at this time of year. You can find it by googling on the internet and may get it even cheaper booking online (we did).
I agree with you about Malaga - it's a terrific city!(AKA HRH_MUngo)
