Help! an RBS debt collector is at my door!! I told him I would be happy to speak to RBS via phone but not him in person. He asked to confirm what the phone details were, but I said RBS had them. Now he is sitting in his car outside
What should I do?!!
What should I do?!!

Let him sit there.
There is no legal requirement for you to speak to him and he has absolutely no legal rights at all. Well as much as the paperboy. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Obviously do not answer the door if he knocks, unless you are up for some confrontation. He should get fed up waiting quicker than you.
They are just trying to intimidate and it often works.
Hopefully someone will be along shortly to offer advice that is more useful than mine.0 -
Sitting in his car he's doing nothing wrong, unfortunately.
Standing on your property he is trespassing and you should call the Police.0 -

Did he try to make an appointment?
Is his car on your drive or on the highway? Is it blocking the drive or causing a possible hazard/nuisance to other drivers?0 -
Well if he is just a dc just tell him you will not be paying him and not to call again then just the door , if he chooses to sit in his car on the public highway and it is intimidating you just ring your local police station and tell them a guy who looks a little dodgy is sitting in his car looking at the houses .)0

they do not knock, they bash so louldy (on purpose) to raise curiosity amongst your neigbours to indimate you and they will stay there for quite a long, so open the door to cut it quickly, tell him you do not buy anything / not interested at all and ask him to leave your property and never come back.
if he refuses, tell him he is trespasser and call the police (do call)
and DO NOT identify yourself - just tell him you don't disclose your personal details to some random strangers0 -

Nothing - treat him like any other cold caller. May be worth putting a 'No Cold Calling' sign on the door - and any DCA that ignores it, that gives you grounds to make a complaint.0
