ISA showdown with the Halifax - Only day one of the tax year :(

Hello Moneysavers, thought I would give a rant to let off steam:

went online this morning (12:15am) to transfer money from my haliax bank account to my halifax ISA account. computer says "no"

telephoned Halifax customer service centre, and told to try again with a transfer after 4am, as there banking systems had not been updated.

went online this morning at 9am, still cant do the transfer.

Make my second call to Halifax, after being read a declaration, I am told the transfer will take up to two hours.

three hours later, went back online.

transfer still not taken place :(

make my third call to enquire. kept on hold for about five minutes, told I am transferred to the savings section.

put through to savings, and greeted with a silent call :(

make my fourth call, told due to account traffic, it might take longer than the two hours. complain, and offered £25.00 payment as a gesture of good will :)

told to check online at close of business today :(
Trinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!

    Why so impatient?

A days interest at 3% is worth 43p..... personally my time is worth a lot more than that.

Tbh, the £25 you've been given sounds like a pretty fair payment for the inconvenience. There are regular issues with faster payments/transfers between accounts, you can find some of them using the search option.

I experienced similar problems last week when my OH was unable to transfer me the rent money for 3 days - irritating, but it normally works fine and they resolved the issue as best they could.

    Did mine at 9.30am online.

5th April and 6th April are the busiest days of the year for ISA transactions. Sometimes a little bit of patience is appropriate.

£25 looks like a win for the OP!

I went online but still no transfer. Contacted the customer call centre. Told on this occassion they tried three times to make the transfer but the money bounced back. I asked why the bank did not contact me. I sounded off, and I am now told the complaint logged at 12:30pm will now be esculated to the customer care team to investigate in the morning, together with the business unit. I feel real cheesed off wit Halifax right now, especially as these are both accounts with Halifax, Not very impressed :(

Why don't you just leave it for a couple of days and stop stressing about losing £1.29 of interest for the next 3 days, given you've been given £25 already.

My thoughts exactly, you'd think at this time off year a bit of patience would be sensible, 1 day into the new tax yr.

    They've 30million customers after all.

I think if you check out other (complaints/compensation) posts from the OP you might understand.

    I had a good read.
