Right, I've feng shuied my computer protection and now have:

    Avast
    Super AntiSpyware
    Malwarebyte
    CC Cleaner
    Windows Firewall
    Adblocker for IE8

Hope this meets everyone's approval :).

Thank you everyone for your help.

Definitely remove SYGATE. Its ancient and no longer supported. Hackers could bypass it in seconds

What would you recommend as a good free firewall for XP? I thought the Windows Firewall in XP was not as good as the later versions.

It isnt, but its still far better than using Sygate

COMODO is the main 3rd party firewall (With defense mode turned off)

it's running a lot quicker now and Malware found 7 infections:eek:.

However, since restarting the PC this morning after all the installations/uninstals... I'm having a problem with IE8. The fonts are all strange everything is in Times New Roman and the back of the page is white only nothing else.

    Can anyone advise please?

    Thanks.

If you have uninstalled a load of stuff I would update Ccleaner and run both the cleaner and registry cleaner.

If you get a message that you cant write to the hosts file then Press the SHIFT key, and whilst holding it RIGHT CLICK and select RUN AS (admin)
