My contract ends 14th june and I know I need to ring up 14th Maa to give 30 days notice..but I wont keep ym number that way.

My Q is, if i get a pac code instead on the 14th of May and use it on say the 10th of june, how does the notice period work? Will the contract end on the 10th of june soon as the PAC code gets used?

One more thing, how long do T-mobile take to send out PAC codes?

PAC Codes and Oranges Way to Stop You Cancelling - it's like a pretty good guide on porting.

All providers have up to 48 hours to issue a PAC. As far as I remember, T-mobile do this almost instantly.

The one thing you DO NOT DO is give notice first before asking for a PAC code.

In fact, you DO NOT GIVE NOTICE. What you do is, once you have received the PAC cde, just use it and within about 7 days or less, your old network will cease and your new one take over the number.

Also, DO NOT CANCEL the old network DD for a month or so as you may have some late call charges coming through and you do not want any aggro or credit black marks because of a couple of quid being bounced because your DD was withdrawn.

I recently got my pac code from t-mobile. I got it over the phone, by text and letter. You will be billed for the month following regardless of when the pac is used. If not used in the month you will need to request again and be billed a further month.
