what happened to wftc?

Just put in the entitled2. calculator the following

working 30+

hubby just working

income for 2010/2011 was £4294.00 ( self employed )

got 3 children, am not working

entitled to wtc but suddenly not wftc..

Can anybody answer me as to why. Needs to know urgently as I want to phone through the figures tomorrow.

    They 're-branded' WFTC to be CTC [child tax credit] ... they felt the 'family' part was a tad controversial in current society where families can be made up of mums, dads, grans, grandpas, carers, foster parents etc etc etc

    okay, I thought it had just gone. Not with it lately. doesn't mean we are not entitled to anything then??

    No you could be entitled to child tax credit dependant on income etc you can check online or phone them

    Wasn't there something about the on-line calc being down for a couple of days at the end of the year for the new tax year switch over?

    Think it may be because it is end of year/new tax year as I had problems with it as well. Just inserted the amount in manually.

    Think they are cracking down on self employed claiming this benefit claiming to work 30 hours and declaring a pittance of an income.
