Right, so no one has actually accused you of anything. Glad we have cleared that up.
I never said they did -but I am surprised at some of the comments - which are not justified

You accused posters on here of calling you a scrounger. When pressed, you admitted that you have not been called a scrounger. You don't like what you are being asked or told. You really need to get over that. I've had another look at the responses you have received and none are rude. You might not like what you hear, but that is another matter entirely.

I NEVER said that anybody called me a scrounger. I actually said myself that I was not - and was pointing out that point (read back)

So nobody had pressed me at all

Feel free to re-read my my posts. You will see that none of them are agitated or angry. I have no problem with being asked or told anything - as long as it is constructive, and not just a comment that does aid anybody at all.

And people have been rude on here - and I did not actually mean you - until now lol

    Calm yourself down

Right, so you've not been accused of being a scrounger and no one has been rude. So the sentence in CAPITAL LETTERS was not you getting irate and you haven't suggested that you have been the victim of a backlash.

I am a bit surprised at some of the back-lash I have had on here

Nothing I have written has demonstrated that I am angry or irate. In fact, now silly Enders has finished, I'll join my family and leave you to it.

You obviously need to touch up on your reading - and stop 'reading between the lines'

Again - I never said I was called a scrounger - I SAID myself that I am not one - that is not defensive - just a statement

My caps are not anger - just stating boldly

I am not angry, or frustrated

And yes - you started off ok, and then became defensive

I used to share a flat with a friend and the only problem was with my trying to claim housing benefit. Someone came and and asked me all sorts of questions: did we have separate rooms, did we have separate food cupboards, did we do do our washing separately, did we do our cooking separately, who did the cleaning.... It was believed that we were not a couple but even so I was told I couldn't get housing benefit unless I provided evidence of my flatmate's lack of income too. He was a student . Fortunately we were on good enough terms that he gave my bank statements and his NI number as proof but I was surprised it was so because most young people I knew shared flats/houses with other young people and even if one person was a millionaire they wouldn't pay the rent for the others.

We have not agreed a rent rate yet. My friend just had a small room, that was not used. I need a change of life and a place to stay - and so took up the offer.
I am much happier, and feel safer.
I pay for my own food - and thats it really.
My friend knows that I have hit hard times - and is ok with me just having the room and thats it really

Thank you for your post - it helped :)

I feel this is going to crop up more and more, especially with the LHA changes that mean under 35's only get the shared room rate.

It's happened to me. I moved house and had my benefits reassessed cos i dared move in with a friend of the opposite sex  still waiting to see if they are going to come visit me.
Have you had any news yet?

I looked at those quetsions. Thank you. But with everything else from the DWP etc - they are not straigh forward and do not keep in line with everybody.

Nobodys situation is the same :(
