as said above vets now provide out of hours cover to vets & may well have been working out of / renting the PDSA hospital at night(they do so in this area).

Unless you are a PDSA client (they would then pay Vets now) the PDSA probably haven't provided you any treatment & will not therefore be able to provide any paperwork any more than the debt collectors will (if that is who you have asked for it). I'm not clear from your post when / how much / why you came to donate to the PDSA rather than pay Vets now bill as should have happened - & which is just that a bill, not a donation & nothing to do with the PDSA, hence should be recoverable on your insurance I would have thought.

For more info on / to contact vets now see http://www.vets-now.com/

If you feel you have a legitimate complaint against the care & treatment given by any vet which you are unable to resolve with them you can contact the RCVS http://findavet.rcvs.org.uk/complaints/how-we-investigate-complaints/

the insurance company have said that they will not add this to the existing claim and therefore would be a new claim subject to the excess in the normal way.

The insurance company should play for any treatment and I don't see why it should be a new claim. Any donation made is a different matter but I would contact your insurers again and ask for clarification
