Fixed rate of interest for duration of the bond - 30 April 2010 -
We were both offered the Incentive Saver in the letters we got, but I binned them. Have already taken out a Santander Flexible ISA with some of the surplus and the rest will go into the Halifax Web Saver Reward at 3% inc Reward bonus.0

This is I think a good move, as you could put it all in one account and no need to transfer £1000 per month.
But I also think a good idea to keep it at least £1.00 in all vantage a/cs (three in my case) to keep it open for the following reasons:
- Just in case there is a chance in the future interest rate higher than 3% than you could still transfer it back to here.
- Santander eSaver i3 include 2.5% bonus payable for 1 year so after 1 year it iwlll drop to 0.5%. If this happen you could put your money back to vantages.
- You could use the vantage a/c as a sacrafice a/c in case there is an incentive payment for opening a new bank a/c in other banks. You coould do this be start put 1dd and 1So and cash £100.00 incentive.
Any though on this, your opinionm please...as I might be missing something here that I have not consider. I am aware that LTSB offer much better customer services than Santander, but my personal expereince Santander CS is not too bad as long as you play by the rule.
ADINDASWill be transfering probably all into Santander eSaver (issue 3) which is 3% instant access. Who will want the hassle of only £5000 in the 3% vantage and also having to transfer the minimum £1000 still. Obviously with the eSaver it's only temporarily for a year and then onto another search again.0 -
Why do not just keep it £1.00 on each a/c (or even 1p).
"If you do not meet both the Vantage conditions we will pay interest on the amount in your account at the standard rate for your product that month. The standard rate for your product will also apply to any amount over the Vantage upper limit."
If you do not pay £1000 a month the interest s close to none but who care if the money is just 1p?. What do you think ?

I 'phoned Lloyds TSB yesterday to open the new Incentive Saver account. It all went very smoothly and this evening the new account has appeared in my online banking. Full marks!0

I've had 7 Vantage accounts getting on for a couple of years and I haven't been offered the Exclusive Incentive Saver either.
Ditto, plus 2 classic accounts, one regular saver, Duo credit cards !
I shall be chatting to an account manager in a few days time making it crystal clear that I would 'like' the opportunity of an incentive saver or I may just remove £55K from their coffers..............A bluff of course !0 -
You sure you've not been into the branch already?
Posted this earlier in the other thread... (apologies for the double post)
Mrs Kar witnessed quite a scene in our local branch. One very irate customer was threatening to take all his money elsewhere because of the changes to his vantage accounts. The manager attempted to calm him down and took him into his office with offers of something to appease him.... Incentive saver account perhaps.
Mrs Kar is always given the sales pitch by the cashiers so I wonder if I'll get the same treatment when I inform the manager our surplus £12k will be leaving Lloyds at the end of June.
Needless to say we haven't had an invite to the Incentive saver club... or the Royal Wedding! If the ball had gone in the net it would have been a goal.If my Auntie had been a man she'd have been my Uncle.0 -
Could you please let us know where could I get info about this account ?
Thank you

It doesn't matter to me as I am moving mine to my old YBS account which is still paying 3.75%, but if you phone customer service and say that your 'friend' has been offered this deal, they may put you through to someone who can sort it? Just a thought.0 -
Yes that is true
Santander eSaver i3 offer 3% and it is very flexible. Interest is accounted each day.Whats the crack with all the whingers not getting the Incentive account? There are a plenty of other accounts paying 3% with easy access.... If you didn't get it, jog on and look elsewhere..0 -
How about the previous post which highlight the possibility:
"no interest is paid on the full balance for the month in which a withdrawal is made" ?
Also is interest paid on daily basis ?
Thank you for the info
ADINDASI've just opened the Incentive Saver via the freephone number with £1, have been assured verbally that access is instant and completely penalty free (will confirm this with Ts & Cs when received by post).
The minimum/maximum permitted balances for the account are £1/£50,000.
It reverts to an Easy Saver Account after the 12 months fixed rate period (currently offering 1.6%).0
