Best place to sell things?

I've managed to accumulate absolutely loads of stuff that I desperately need to sell now, including:
- A fireplace (gas, with the slidey thing on the side which apparently is quite desirable) and all surroundings/marble hearth
- A brand new shower (wouldn't fit, Mira Excel EV bought for £330)
- Lots of video games (some 'rareish' ones)
- Brand new router (went we Be so didn't need it, paid £60)
- Home phones (nice Philips ones, refurbished but never used, bought for £60)
- Logitech Harmony 555 Remote brand new
... amongst other things. Problem is I'm so massively out of touch I don't know the best place to sell these things.
Is ebay still the best place? Maybe Gumtree? maybe even an add in the local supermarket or something (on those noticeboards?!) for the fireplace?! Ebay/Play/Amazon/CEX or somewhere else for the games?
Cheers

I would say Ebay is still the place.
Amazon is not that big for selling anything as a private seller from own personal experience. On Ebay you can put pictures etc which always makes it easier and more interesting for the buyer.
For the big things I would possibly firstly put adverts on the local boards... And if you do end up putting it on Ebay, don't forget to say that it is collection only!!0 -
Hi blizeH,
You should get more help with this on the Ebay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales board so I've moved your thread across.

Many thanks Any, I did think Ebay but had a bad experience there last time I tried to sell things (my items were going for almost half what they were listed for on Amazon/Play.com etc under the user sales sections) but I think it's probably still the best option then. Good shout on the ideas for the larger items too
And thanks Pink! I did look for a board like that but couldn't see it for some reason, sorry0 -

That might be the case, but what they were listed at and if they sold are 2 different things!!
You can say what price you want the bidding to start at on Ebay as well you know? I had few items on Amazon and some sold after months and some never!!0
