Agreed, opinions needed just don't think we should get too in to a debate about technicalities on here or everyone will start snoring!

Ok, time to test something new for the spreadsheet:

Could some people test this out and see what they think - the spreadsheet has been published as a web page. It will auto update live from the current editors version of the standard spreadsheet as and when that is updated.

The perk will be it allows unlimited viewers at any time, so no more issues with having multiple copies floating around that only allow X number of people on at a time with some not able to access page 2 etc etc.

This should fix everything, although some limitations in funtionality, such as the quantities wont work - although my understanding is they only worked for editors anyway.

Anyway, here is the link - let me know if it works for you - if it doesnt, please continue to access the spreadsheet in the normal way (as described in post two in this thread)
NEW WEB PAGE BASED SPREADSHEET VERSION
    HERE

EDIT: Just noticed "comments" are listed at bottom of page numerically ordered - it is possible to publish in alternative formats, such as excel (that would maintain the comments as you are used to them) or PDF that would not. I chose web page based for maximum compatability, but let me know your thoughts on other formats too! :)

Looks fab to me, thanks for all the work everyone has put into the SS :T

Look at the top right of the screen - I have a blue bit that tells me who is viewing - that expands to become chat

can you buy this stuff online and still use the receipt to price compare/claim back? or do you have to go instore?
Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.

At the moment there is a read only version which is linked to in post 2 . we're currently testing another way of publishing it

We had to make the master private because googledocs only allows 50 people so a lot of the time the editors couldn't actually make changes cos we couldn't get in!
  • SS is looking good, thanks so much to all that have gone to the effort to do it :)

I know that Martin advertising DTD in the MSE e-mail will prob have implications but in a way it also makes what we're doing more legit. I'm not going to feel so naughty now when I go shopping with my vouchers tomorrow :o

I know it's a waste of clubcard points and not very MSE, but I had £30 worth of clubcard points through yesterday and used them for petrol. Their were no deals I wanted and because of all the DTD's it made sense to me. Why pay cash for petrol when I could use those, might be worth a thought if you have any..as we have all probably been using more petrol.

    Doritos 250g:
    £1.98 at tesco
£2 for 2 bags at asda
so buy 2 bags for £3.96, DTD of £3.92, making it 2p a bag!
    can anyone confirm this?

    Nooooooo!!! (Twice...)

I've been using the clubcard vouchers for the huge boxes of Thorntons' choccies, but now that you can get train tickets with them, I am, for the first time, really wanting clubcard points!

And while I can resist chocs, Cornettos etc, I am going to have to work very hard to forget this DTD on Doritos... They just wouldn't last a moment.

New spreadsheet idea is great, though appreciate having the links to the static one as well so that I can download from there. Thank you, all of you who work so hard on it.

Had no problems using vouchers tonight, though they are keeping the old receipts. The worst problem was trying to find things I needed which didn't have DTD! Found the Finish quantumatic in my Tesco for the first time for ages, so was particularly pleased to be able to buy that with the £5 moc as well. Had a Sainsbury's voucher too, so used £29 worth of vouchers on that particular shop. Haven't yet managed to find lamb or roast potatoes.
