Hi,
does anyone know the best company to hire a small car from at Mahon airport 28 May for 1 week?
Doyouspain are the cheapest but have shocking reviews.
I'd preferably like an empty to empty fuel policy as my accom is AI and its only a small island so wont be doing much travelling anyway.
I've used carjet previously but they are quite a bit more expensive this time.
Thanks,
Bails.

Can't for the life of me remember which company we used last year, but we used travelsupermarket.com.
The cheapest company is not always the best- they often have hidden charges, or add them on when you get there, so be careful. When we arrived at the airport to pick up the car, they charged us an extra £30 as my boyfriend was under 25, even though his Mum was the main driver, and it didn't say anything about this anywhere in the T&Cs.
Although Menorca is a small island, it is stunning, and it's well worth driving around! Lots of places are much easier reached by car. Not sure where abouts you are staying, but definitely pay a visit to the beaches of Cala Galdana and Cala Mitjana- absolutely gorgeous. Also, if you've got kids and they/you like paddling amongst fish and seeing them really well from the surface, take a trip to Cala n Forcat. Very residential and no beaches, but stunning coves where you can swim amongst the fish and paddle.0 -
Hi Kim-kat.
Thanks for the reply. I know about the cost aspect. Ive been doing some further research and all the reputable companies are too expensive, I think I'll just get transfers. Have looked at poppycars as they seem reliable, but I just cant justify the expence.
Since 2000, the only years I havent been to Menorca are 2004 and last year as I wasnt able to justify the ever increasing cost. Hence the desperation to get back in the May/June half term.
My boy LOVES cliff jumping at Cal n Brut in Cala N Forcat. We always stay at the Almirante Farragut.

Hi
We are also going to Menorca around the same time as you. We've hired a car using Lastminute (which appears to be holiday autos).
With basic car, basic insurance and two named drivers, it worked out around £15/day, which I didn't think was too bad. Perhaps it might be worth a try. Certainly cheaper than the transfer costs we were quoted.
Am going to get independent excess/wheel/windscreen insurance, whic you can pick up for around £20 following the articles on this website.

thanks diver2.
Lastminute.com are comming out at £150 for me 28/5 - 4/6, so I dont think thats a go-er.
I'm probably now just going to use an airport transfer. Has any booked with airporttransfers.co.uk, I dont seem to be able to find many reviews.
Thanks again,
