PF100 LSF Satellite cable, double screened CAI approved digital cable with 1mm bare copper inner conductor. Does this sound like it would be any good??
It may work depending on the length of the cable run however the issue is the signal level.Signal may be ok at the Isolator at the original location but may be too low at the end of the new cabling. And without a SLM you have no way of checking & certainly no access to attenuators or equalisers for balancing the signal.
DIY job's are OK for Sky & Aerial but cable is a lot more complicated. Not to mention you are breaking the T&C's.0 -
We tested it with a shorter piece of cable, maybe 10 feet long & it was fine. But he reckons we'd probably need at least 60 to 70 feet of cable to get round the other side of the house. We're a typical 3 bed semi & its going from the front room to the back room. I'm having second thoughts now, its looking like false economy to do it yourself.0

At that sort of length you're looking at probably an hour+ to do the work properly, and it would involve moving the actual connection box.
It's also going to be plenty long enough for the signal quality to be affected by the change in cable length (even with proper VM cable).
I'd definitely get VM out to deal with it at that sort of distance, and if you ask nicely they may even leave the existing connection point so you could move the box from one room to the other at will.
It might also be worth asking how much it would cost to get another box installed - it might be cheaper to get an additional box and pay the install for fee + monthly fee for that than to get the existing box moved (IIRC depending on the package you're on additional boxes can be as low as £5 a month, possibly with an install fee that would make it cheaper - you may be able to take advantage of any offers on the VHD boxes for example to get one of them installed).0 -

Once it's installed they aren't allowed to remove it.They'll most likely take the new connection from the external gray box,the ETB.0
