Thank you so much, I have just booked tickets with my tesco points that arrived today- very excited now!! xxx

If you go to Drusillas, try and go on a day when it is sunny or at least not raining as the undercover areas are few. If it is warm and sunny they have a small Lido pool for children so pack some towels and trunks/cossies.

Take a couple of biros for the kids. After the admission kiosks there are some free booklets - a stamping one and a Zoolympics one for them to write things in - but no pens!

You can save money by taking a picnic, although the restaurant prices are reasonable for a visitor attraction.

One of the best times to go around the zoo part is in the last hour before they close. If you arrive early in the morning most of the animals will be cold and lethargic.

    Drusillas is amazing.

They also like driving out to Winchelsea Beach
    - when the tide goes out it is mud beach, like Weston, so you can get stuck in quite easily!

Pett Level end has a Pre-historic Petrified Forest at low tide where people can walk over the remains of the Forest millions of years old and theres also the Smugglers Pub...It is great fun looking around all of the rock pools at low tide.....Most of the beach isn't mud now, longshore drift has moved lots of sand so when the tides out theres plenty of sand.....

yes the pefriefied forest is quite intersting but BEWARE of he mud like you have said. When I was last there someone got stuck in the mud (literally) and had trouble walking on it.

Camber Sands here you come than :) There is a great beach at Camber Sands, so hopefully the weather shall be kind to you. The nearest supermarket to Camber is a small Budgens in Rye, but the nearest large supermarket is in Hastings or Ashford, just so you know before you travel. There is an onsite Nisa shop which is well stocked and some of the offers are quite good :) On Thursday in nearby Rye, East Sussex there is a good market which is well worth a visit. If you want to know more about the area, ie, Camber, Rye, etc, I shall happily endeavour to help.

To be original poster, there is a couple of places that ALWAYS escape me mind, and that is Boduim Castle at Boduim, and that's a good place to visit.

Flamingo Park is a buy tokens for 50p each. Each ride though costs £1. Your 4/5 year olds will be able to go on:

    Carousel
    Balloon Ride
    Ghost Train
    Paddle Canoes
    Cars & Trucks Ride
    Caterpillar
Hip Hop (drop ride if tall enough)
Dodgems (with an Adult but is 3 tokens I think)

Some of the rides are pretty lame for even 4/5 year olds. The best value is the Caterpillar as it circles the track 3 times.

With 2 kids, make sure you don't ride with them as it costs tokens, even if you want to just support them on some rides. It's very easy to blow £20-£40 in less than an hour!

Maybe look at the Eastbourne Minature Steam Railway https://www.emsr.co.uk for a cheaper day out with train rides, lakeside walk and a play park. It costs £25.50 entry for a family of 4 with unlimited train rides. But go when the weather is good. Take a picnic to cut down on costs and a book or magazine whilst the monsters play.

    Hello :)

There are a couple of resturants in Camber that are good. You have the Plaice and the Dunes bar. I've only heard good things about both. The dunes in well near the dunes and the Plaice is as you come into Camber. There is also a fish and chip shop and a cafe. Where you staying? :)

You'll be fine, a holiday is what you make it :) That's something I say, and follow as a holidaymaker. Depending on what chalet class you stay in, you need to buy electric, they are tokens, but club gets them free.

I hope you have a lovely time and anymore about the area I shall try to help.
