yes. As soon as they tried to con me out of it i went back on their site and typed all my details in for a new quote at my new address. It came up £10 cheaper per year than I was paying at my old postcode. I conclude from this that the new postcode area is not a greater risk so therefore they should not be trying to fleece me for moving there.
My policy was £141 TPFT, so to be asked for an extra £75 when 6 months into it, just for moving 2 miles is scandelous.
Yes, but that was quoting you as a new customer - most insurers offer new customer discounts and remove them in 2nd year, which is why people think their premiums have gone up when nothing has changed.0 -

Nothing has changed = cost has gone up by £1500 -
Thanks for all the replys. I guess part of my post was a rant at the industry of insurance itself rather than buying online verses on the street. I am a bit miffed with the whole motoring thing as petrol/insurance has rocketed and mot's get harder to pass all the time it seems. I can see why so many people are giving up cars for good. Ive been driving claim free for 25 years and have never felt so victimised for being a car user than i have in the last 6 months. rant over.
Anyway, my new quote from swift has gone from 141 last year to 217.07 this year. So has everyones by the same or similar %, I realise that. That rise was never my issue. Direct line want 239 as an alternative. I will do a few other searches.0 -
Coincidentally one of our lunchtime topics today was car insurance…..two people were of the view that the comparison sites are getting more expensive than going direct to insurance companies so maybe the age of the comparison sites is coming to an end
My renewal quote (from Admiral) was £40 cheaper than any of the comparison site prices this year - I did notice at 15% increase on last year, but that seems normal when compared to the experiences of everyone else reporting on here...
Have we seen the beginning of the demise of Sergei and his friends?0 -
A company called Masterquote has just given me a £155 offer. I shall research them.0
