has the search been playing up today lol

I've come home to 26 merge requests

:o Couple of those down to me I'm afraid, so abject apologies :o

Search must be partially working as earlier copies of the comps I accidenty duped came up as in Game Over, but not the active ones. I wouldn't have posted them again otherwise ;) Not in the habit of winding up BGs:rotfl:! I usually search full & stripped URLs, and then sometimes search again using certain key words, (not things like "Phone" or I'd be here all day , LOL :rotfl:!)
Really irritating when you do all this, post, but despite all your searching, find out later it's a dupe :o. Just as irritating for BGs too, I guess ?

Is it typical for competition hosts to somewhat disguise a WEM? Or if you get a WEM do the hosts tend to make it very clear?

I hope not as I simply click on delete for LOADS of emails every day without opening them  ! One of the by-products of comping is a bulging inbox :p, but hey, many of those emails will contain another comp for you to enter and maybe post on here if it's not already here :D! Not all bad ;)
Those WEMs I have had, tend to have words like "Winner" or "Congratulations!" in the title tho', so you can scan for such delights !
Also, look out for emails from people rather than companies as their PR people sometimes use a different email address ;)
Hope you get to find out yourself very soon ;):)

hi, quick question. My daughter phoebe is entered in the micro scooter uk facebook competition. (Design a easter/wedding helmet) I would love for her to win it. People just need to like her picture.
Please could someone point me in the right direction of where to post my plea.

    Many thanks for your time.

I want to let you in to something I've been testing for a few days regarding the problem I have in particular with say the Daily Mail Handbag comp that I post up on a Monday (which is only live until midnight that night). Due to having it put in game over by mid-morning usually I post it up with the next day (00:01) and have always been aware that it is not ideal for end date compers. This week I put it up and asked for pm's from end daters and with the help of bargainhuntergal I tested over a couple of days what I was trying to do.

Basically I put next day (00:01) in the header but in the main body I put hidden text (like we do for guessedenddate) for the true date, and because the board guides (I presume) use title header but end daters use say search E: **/** it should suit everyone.

I have tried it this morning on my nuts post, I hid something specific and did a search (I've taken it out now) and it picked it up :T

I will do this from now on with any strange end date ones, and thought it might be something others may want to incorporate :j

    Can anyone help?

what is the correct way to post an ongoing monthly comp with no fixed end date where you have to enter every month?

I am really confused as Glad say's in NEW GUIDELINES: Major Changes to Comp Posting- Read Before Posting
    Main board users
every monthly comp will now be posted on the main board as a separate thread each month, that will mean maybe 200 extra comps ending on the last day of each month
weekly entry/drawn comps will now be posted in ongoing threads, if the promotion has an overall end date these threads will be on the main board, if they are ongoing they will now be posted on the regs board,
I was going to post a comp in the regulars as E: MONTHLY (ONGOING) but I noticed that there is no longer any monthly ongoing comps there

so I have posted the comp on the main board as E: 30/04 Win a JetRest brand new Luxury Travel Comfort Kit (refer a friend)

I have also added the tag repostmonthly to show via search that the comp needs to be posted every month
please could someone advise if this is correct and ok! ;)

Update: I have PM'd glad to take a look at my post to see if it is ok and for clarification

I think that I have misread Glads post as the ongoing part of the post is for weekly comps

From how i understand it - what you have posted is completely correctly, i have not seen the tag before, but think its an excellent idea!

I think I understand what you mean so I'm sorry if I'm wrong. But don't most end date compers, sort by end date and not search by end date

I don't know iwannabeonthebeach :A that's the problem, I don't know how end daters do it, so if they do 'sort by end date' rather than 'search by end date' then this wouldn't help :(
