GreyQueen - I found my ME settled into a more bearable level since I changed my eating habits. I stick to 3 meals a day even when I'm not hungry- because for years I was never hungry and found it hard to eat at all. So now I make myself eat something even if not much. Always plain old fashioned proper food, no rubbish. No bought stuff, no additives. It has helped a lot although it took a wee while to kick in. I now have some battery power, whereas before I was always drained. :D

Well - any tips on how you persuaded yourself to eat when not hungry would be welcome. Meals with my parents are punctuated by my comments of "M..o...THER...is that all you're having? For goodness sake eat some more.." and her stubbornly sitting there saying "But I'm not hungry...". Grrr...so she'll have a glass or two of wine with the meal...but not much of the blinkin' meal...

    Hi all.

Well, I think it may have been the de humidifier in the cellar. When I rented I was spending roughly £20 per month on electric and that was a key meter. Here, it just seems to cost so much more. I have an immersion but it only comes on once a day for an hour. Everything is electric except heating which is solid fuel, but I had that in my old place. I went round like a whirling dervish yesterday and switched everything off so now it is a matter of seeing what happens. Also I did a price comparison and it seem I could only save about £60 per year so things must have gone up alot!!!

Yes, it was a customer estimate as I dont like to get caught out with bills like this!! I am just going to keep an eye on it over the next week or so. Anyone know where I get one of those energy monitor things so I can see just what it is that is using a MASSIVE amount of electric. Although I do think it must be the dehumidifer.

Energy monitor - try your library. They should have some available to borrow for free.

Kittie I agree re odd vibes this summer. I'm sensitive to that kind of stuff and this summer its like I'm living under a dark cloud somehow. Not helped by the weather up here which is anything but hot !! We've had hardly any sun since may - just grey & dull, wind & rain.

redlady will you check your dehumidifier wattage, it will be on a label, probably at the back or underneath. If it is 400w then it will use 9.6 kw in 24 hours or 288 a month. Times that with your cost per unit and say your units cost 10p then that will be £28.8 a month. If your dehumidifier is 80w then that will cost almost £6 a month

Ah Kittie thank you! I think you have hit the nail on the head. My bills have increased by about £80 per quarter. Will have a nose in a min.

Kimitatsu - could you please let me know what you put in your breakfast bars? I used to have a bowl of cereal at work whilst the pooter was firing up but we've been banned from eating breakfast - but not lunch or snacks!

DD has requested a crumble for tea so I'm going to try putting twinks on top of the fruit as someone mentioned a couple of pages ago.

I've also had a 'fuggy' head for the last 2 days which seems to have cleared this morning so I'm going to start keeping a record of when I get them and see if they coincide with sun/moon events.

Have a good day everyone. We're going out early whist it's still cool and cloudy then doing 'indoor jobs' when the sun comes out :)
They'll ask me how I got her I'll say
    I saved my money

It would be interesting if anyone has a link to a website where this sort of thing is measured - both date and time would be useful. The thought had simply never occurred to me that maybe those times when my mood very suddenly positively zooms down from one minute to the next might have some external cause and so I'm wondering if thats it. It could be useful to check that out and see what I think ....

I am very used to basically ignoring moods/my body playing up in any way/etc - and thinking "If it doesnt compute - it doesnt exist and I won't take it into account. I've got a life to get on and lead - so I've got to lead it...". I guess - for some of us - if we've been brought up in a "Just get ON with it..." type family and/or single woman and/or living in an urban environment - then one has to "block out and get out" - ie "toughen up and live that life then...." and factors like that get ignored as irrelevant and no way to deal with them (as the environment is too "harsh" to allow for thinking about things like that).

These days - I wonder if exterior factors/"illogical" things have been affecting ME rather more than I was aware of...
